    Ghetto Moto-Jam

Just threw together my first 'real' effort after a very quick session in the Lite Editor to get used to it.

    Track: Ghetto Moto-Jam
    Creator: InsatiableFiend
    Difficulty: Hard (a 'moderate' hard)

Be interested to get some feedback as I'd like to know where I could improve it. There are frame rate issues over near the big sign with the track name on it - it's not too bad, but I'd like to know how I can get rid of it.

I didn't have too many pre-conceived ideas, just knew that I wanted structures made out of junk and something with a very run-down feel. I ended up building the sign as an afterthought as I thought it would look rather cool. I couldn't quite work out how to get more contrast with it but was happy enough with the outcome. I've passed the track on the Phoenix AND Scorpion, so I know it's easy enough to pass with both bikes provided you can pass existing Hard tracks - not sure about the Donkey and I locked the other two bikes as I don't think they'll manage the jumps.

The two sections where you have to slow up and stop are also areas that I wasn't quite sure about as they're very tricky, but on the flip side I didn't want to make it too simple to 0 fault, so instead I made the time limit for platinum a little longer than it ought to be to compensate.

About 4-5 hours work in total. Hope you like it!

    Cheers

Not too bad for a first try.
I'l be brutally honest, but only to help you build better in the future.

    Pros:
    -Some good challenging obstacles.
    -Good lenth track.
-Not impossible for average Joe hard players.

    Cons:
-Some obstacles verging on extreme difficulty. ( roof to boxes to platform )
-Bumpy start. I always find it better to start a track with something smooth or at least wont catch your back wheel as much unless you intend to make it an obstacle.
-Didn't like the puddle of water. It seemed like you had something in mind for that and then it didn't happen.
-The drop from the cars was also a bit extreme as you have to land flat not to headbut the barrels.
-Lack of theme/ decoration. Just seemed a bit dull.

    Cheers!

I think the start is definitely a little underbaked and you're right, it's a little too fiddly to start off with. I'll bare that one in mind!

I see what you're saying regarding the boxes verging on Extreme, but I didn't think it was quite there in that regard - I think the section after is a little bit underdeveloped which would make it work a little better.

The water - I wanted floating objects and stuff to knock out the way, it was actually what I wanted to do but clearly it's not too convincing, I just wanted it to reinforce the idea that the place is a total mess. Unfortunately having run it a few times, the tyres occasionally cause some issues with smooth riding.

I think the drop off the cars would have been fine but I should have lengthened the track out slightly to enable a landing more consistently, so yeah I think this one could have been executed a little better.

Yeah - I agree, design isn't really my forte. I'm not sure I can do much about this though!

Glad it wasn't too bad. I spent some time making sure there were enough checkpoints and that it was passable on both bikes, I realise there are a few things in there that not everybody will like though, so I'll try to iron those kind of things out when I come to do another one.

Edit: Watched your replay, very precise and ultimate control, you're pretty good

    Cool beans.
I've seen a lot of people start out with tracks on the same sort of level as your and they have been on here getting feedback and then turn out to make some really decent ones.
Keep working at it and I'm sure you will be making some epic tracks in no time. ( well maybe some time )

Cool track, it's clear you gave it attention. It's tough, however. I'd say it pretty easily qualifies as extreme. The stack of cars looked cool but was maddening!

Still, very nice work. Looking forward to more of your technical tracks.

    Thanks!

Yes, I appreciate I made it a little too frustrating in a couple of areas, but it's all part of the challenge
