Does anyone know if it's possible to make a skill game last longer than 30 minutes? If so, how? If not, why not?
I was planning on making a huge puzzle and logic based first person skill game, but it won't be possible if this can't be done, so any help would be appreciated.![]()
Not sure... but with all those Data Source options available it would surprise me if you couldn't. Would it be possible to count up to 30 mins then have it count backwards? You'd effectively have 60 mins then ?? I don't understand how to set them up yet...
Just a thought!![]()
I'm pretty sure you can't. If you tried to, let's say, put the time as a meter on the top-left corner of the screen or whatever, and set the max to the highest it can go, the cap will be 30 minutes. If you tried to set up the impulse interval to be at the highest delay, the max will be whatever amount of ticks equates to 30 minutes.
Anyway, I don't know why there's a limit. Maybe to narrow down the leaderboards or something?
What I would do is release your track or something in parts. But I wouldn't know what you're making so it's all up to you.

I guess I'll figure something out, thanks for replying, better I find out now at least.![]()
Though I still can't wrap my head around why the limit's 30, or why there needs to be a limit at all, my map wouldn't even have time as a way of keeping score, so leaderboards wouldn't factor into it.![]()
I'm not sure if this helps, since i'm starting out myself, but I did see a map that locked the timer at 1:00 the whole way through. Possibly to override the limit?
Again, sorry if this is no help - but it like to think it can be done.
30 minutes (60*60*30 ticks) is the ultimate limit for the "session", it cannot be exceeded.
You may have seen some custom time counters but its not the same thing.
The limit might be related to replays. Maybe they allocated a max size for replays and they don't want that to be ever exceeded.Originally Posted by James24993
Maybe you could make the track in multiple parts. Puzzling Puzzles Part 1! Puzzling Puzzles Part 2! And etc.
A 30 minute skill game?
WHAT!?
To be fair- he sold me when he said "huge", "puzzle" and "logic".
What's it called, I'll keep an eye out for it when it's done, it sounds good. But sad to hear that the 30 minute timer can't be overridden for this.
Not sure I could ever come up with 30 minutes worth of puzzling - not for a long time anyway!
