I'm wouldnt have thought they would need resetting

just recalculate there scores from current times (after clearing any glitched times)

wouldn't that be a better solution.

Also that way I don't lose my times

Whether they do or not makes absolutely no difference to my enjoyment of the game. Personally speaking I'm more than happy competing on individual tracks, aiming for faster times. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against it in any way, I don't care if my score is reset to zero or if it stays the same, and I understand the top riders will feel frustrated that their skills aren't reflected on the global lb. Trouble is, when multi-accounting pops up they will be just as frustrated again.

It's unfortunate for the better riders (and egomaniacs alike lol) that they don't have their true position, and for them I hope they get what they want. For me, I'm easy with it how it is, this game is outstanding in every way and a few incorrect scores on a lb won't change that for me.

I feel I should state this is just my personal opinion, and I totally respect why it's such a big deal to the more serious heads, especially given the nature of the game and the main draw being leaderboard action. Perhaps if I was a top 20'rider I'd feel differently, but I'm not and never will be.

Leaderboards will NOT be reset. The total score leaderboard will be fixed by recalculating scores for the (small number of) players that are affected.

I hope they know exactly who was affected because there could be some dude way down the leaderboards who has only played a few tracks so far and has 10,000,000 points and all it will take is for him to finish the game and we'll have the same situation again

In which case I would think they would apply the same fix to that guy as they are going to do to the ones they know about now
