I never liked EA but this is just taking it to a whole new level."When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you're really not very price sensitive at that point in time."
"A consumer gets engaged in a property, they might spend 10,20,30,50 hours on the game and then when they're deep into the game they're well invested in in. We're not gouging, but we're charging and at that point in time the commitment can be pretty high."
"But it is a great model and I think it represents a substantially better future for the industry."
Edit- wrong section, please move to offtopic. Thanks.
This is why businessmen should NOT run game companies. Never playing another EA game. (except Deadspace)
Whoa that's crazy. It's probably the most awful thing I've ever heard concerning the gaming industry. If companies begin to adopt this mircotransaction financial model there will be no hope. It will also mean that game piracy will become much more prevalent. Trust EA to think of this. Blood sucking corporate *****s.
EA is not to blame for this, its the s*ckers that buy this stuff. If nobody would be that stupid to buy season passes, on disc DLC and whatnot the gaming industry will know that this business model doesnt work. I started realising how crazy this was when Gears 3 (its not only EA) came out, if u wanted all the extras it would cost you anothor 60 euro on top of the game's price. So, dont support this stuff!
I have the Gears3 season pass. It was worth every penny and i actually paid less than what those DLCs would have costed separately so i thought it was a good idea. But EA takes the cake in coming up with the most absurdest (if thats a word) way of taking your money and piracy wont do anything because youd still have to put money in-game to pay for reloading, for sprinting, and for the love of god who knows what else...
