I would go for community picks but it would have to be done right..after all,its the same people using this thread so it couldnt work like that..there would have to be a certain criteria that would stay the same over time no matter wot.then eveyone will know where they stand,unlike now..

I don't think a community picks is necessary. I think Redlynx should simply take the number of votes into account when they choose their Redlynx picks. More votes = More likely to get picked.

Voting could be regulated a spec easier by making the vote a type of rating thing. Put each track up for selection on a poll and rate each track 1-10 on several categories. Deco, drive line,replay value, overall fun level, correct difficulty rating, etc. This would set specified standards for builders to achieve. And builders could easily see what needs work and what doesn't, what the community likes and does not like. Then average the ratings to get a 1-10 star.
This may sound silly or complicatedbut really is neither. This is how we rate kids at the end of little league season in baseball, so the coachs can use ratings to draft next years players. Works well, no one Ever complains, and the best kids get picked first every year, just like they should yeah? Same here, you would see the cream tracks rise to the top, and it would be visible to everyone why it did.

I see your point this wouldn't solve a whole lot. First my man, it's still rl picks right? They aren't gonna letthe community help pick "their" picks. Second, we would still have no idea what is justifying this 6 vote track over this 7 vote track. With a community picks feed we could both help pick who is winning and more important to some...why.

Do what I do, completely forget about the RL picks. I made a few tracks I was really proud of, each got 5-10 nominations in this thread. I got my hopes up, then they sunk as days went on with no pick. Oh well. Now I just dont worry about it, I will build for my friends list and anyone else who stumbles upon my thread or track in TC (And for myself!). If I get more than 100 downloads, its more than what my tracks in HD got.
