So you are only speaking out about the lack of ninja track recognition from RL now that you are making ninja tracks? It's been a problem since the very beginning of TC.Originally Posted by Wraath
@Bluebadger: That's a good theory, but I don't think RL Picks is for tracks that don't get attention. When you see Fatal Snipes, Medieval Genius, THDTE, etc; it shows that it's more about a high enough standard of line/deco. A standard that I, personally, believe many ninja tracks have exceeded.
I actually think if it's an extreme minor level 1 ninja track it should be taken into consideration but does that mean it's too hard, no I don't think so.
Track Central's downloads right now are very poor so hardly many players are on right now. How many world wide you reckon are playing? 30 to 50k? I think the majority of players now could do ninja level 1 tracks.
But I do respect the thoughts of you breaching to the community also BB, I understand all the values that have been taken into account here, very good reasons at that.
When you say the ninja community do you mean on the forum or do you mean worldwide? Either way I look at it, some people might not get recognised, Wraath, I think you are well recognised and make very decent tracks. You are also a well known track maker and hold a wrench too. Which of many people don't have but deserve IMO also.
But my 2 cents are I think they should throw one in from time to time.

Giving also the fact that it isn't an In game difficulty, but a tag. Those tracks are for the super hardcore(ninja) players. There not typically a good choice for everyone.
The players that can't pass an easy level 1 are players that don't care about the game. I'm sorry but if you can't pass something that is only a tad harder than the great fire you shouldn't have room to complain IMO. When it comes to RLP I hate the catering towards casuals. They dgaf about picks.
Sorry, I totally disagree with that.Originally Posted by ClutchMystaFlex
I cannot play ninja, I can barely do extreme. It's a path I never went down in the game because I didn't enjoy them, yet I will beat many ninja players at a med to hard speedrun. The two are different disciplines and require a different skill set.
I have been playing pretty much every day since release so it's not fair to say i don't care about the game just because I don't have the technical skills needed to do ninja.
This shouldn't be a "us vs them" conversation because there's only one Trials community and everyone who plays is a part of it, even if they aren't ninja or even if they are. There are still a lot of people still playing Trials Evolution and catering the picks towards all of them is the way to go. There are a lot of people who care about the game but can't finish a ninja track and I don't think we should act in a way that every player has to "prove their worth" by finishing a ninja track before they are considered equal to the rest.
At what point did this become a discussion about proving.. Its about having recignition for the most popular thing on trials ATM from redlynx.
Btw I understand speedrunning and ninjas are completely different.
This is not true, a lot of players who care deeply about the game wouldn't be able to pass them.Originally Posted by ClutchMystaFlex
It became a discussion about 'proving' the minute you said players who can't pass Level 1's don't care about the game.Originally Posted by ClutchMystaFlex
Personally, I have nothing against Ninja's, I have fun attempting and enjoying quite a few of them, and have total respect for the guys that breeze through them, but the feeds are taken up with Ninja's more often that not in any case.Think about the guys spending ages making Easy/Medium/Hard tracks to have them disappear from the feeds due to the regular influx of Ninja's, especially the one's with only one checkpoint, having multiple releases.
Saying all that, I personally feel Level 1's could be included in the feeds, but Blue does make good points against not including them.
Im no ninja rider but it wouldn't bother me if one was put up, as long as it was only level 1.
Thought I'd give my opinion/input on this. I personally think that ninjas should be included, some of the best looking tracks I've played with fair and balanced obstacles have been ninjas.
Also if you learn the core techniques of ninjas then you'll find some ninjas you had trouble with before become x10 easier. It's just a matter of integrating ninjas into the entirety of the game rather than as an add-on almost.
Speed running takes time to get good at, and requires the proper flow and control of the bike, whilst ninjas requires a bit more control and knowledge of techniques, some easy, some hard. But both take time to get good at.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are 3 different types of players (generalisation), 1. ninja riders, 2. speed runners 3. both, and since these types of players exist on a somewhat equal basis, then the popularity of speed running and ninja tracks should both be picked.
