Sebbbi, I feel the same way as you. The performance of the track is priority. I have downloaded too many "scenic" tracks with mediocre driving lines. It would be great if you made a thread to help aspiring track designers like myself. I'm sure everybody would make use of it.
And for the record: My favorite track so far is UC Real Trials. A competition themed track with awesome flow and skillful timesavers.
I was making a general point about tracks and not any one specific track or poster.Originally Posted by buttcheekofdeth

However, the fact of the matter is I've played more than a few user tracks in TrialsHD and in Evo so I'm well aware of the extraordinary variety of tracks and the differing levels of work and polish etc that go into them.
I've played tracks that are silky smooth but instantly forgettable and boring as hell and some absolute stunners that just had too many framerate, lighting, camera and screentearing issues to be enjoyable. I've played tracks that had almost zero decoration yet had an incredible driveline while others were drowning in detail but were little more than a series of jumps. 'Mediocre' is still taste and taste differs.
Willyumz certainly knows his tracks and I respect his opinion too but even amongst the Redlynx team there is going to be differences of opinion on some tracks.
The track you cite is one of MY favourite styles too and as I would like to think of that style as a 'Chopper'(in tribute to QcChoppers magnificent real trials series)
Is the track you cite perfect? Nowhere near. Is it enjoyable? In my view it is. Are there better tracks out there? No doubt, but RedLynx are never going to please everyone and the tracks I consider weaker in their picks list I simply play, delete and move on.
There are still the other channels such a most downloaded and highest rated so the RedLynx Picks might be the most coveted place but a good trackmaker is still going to find his way through even without a RedLynx pick.
And it's really the trackmakers rather than the individual tracks that will become most familiar to track central users as happened with TrialsHD over time.
You mean UC Trial Contest created by IM A IN II A IK ?My favorite track so far is UC Real Trials. A competition themed track with awesome flow and skillful timesavers.
If so it's a belter as are almost all of his tracks which I really enjoy.
And I'd tip The Dark Tower by Nanocrystal as a firm favourite for a RedLynx pick as the work that has gone into it is stunning and it still has a nice driveline.
Tropical Outlook by Optik4 is a very pretty track with a nice line as well.
[EDIT] Just had to add Antiqua by Storm Lord ast Not easy (to zero fault) but infuriatingly addictive and some gorgeous visuals.

Try jook13 and Ajuvix latest tracks as well. Very nice indeed.![]()
I'm paraphrasing you there, but you get the point.Originally Posted by buttcheekofdeth

But low and behold, that is what this thread is for!
I suggested on page 1, a track that I thought was fantastic and the Devs should take a look at, and wouldn't you know it, the track got picked as a RedLynx Picks within a few days.
If you know of tracks that are 100 times better than the ones that RedLynx is choosing, you should suggest those tracks to the developers in this thread. I am sure that they would like to be given a heads up on good tracks that they can check out, and if they like them I am sure that they will post them as a RedLynx Pick.
With help from the community, Redlynx can pick all the great tracks!
Seconded, this track is fantastic. A more than worthy "RL Picks" nominee.Originally Posted by GOLEM100

I can take some pride though, in the fact that some of those who have played my tracks have taken the time to message me and comment on them.
Here's hoping for the future picks...
I would like also see The Dark Tower by Nanocrystal as a Redlynx pick. Such a nice level with smooth driveline
It's not about people's tastes IMO. There's enough quality tracks out there that there should not be super buggy/laggy tracks on RedLynx picks. S'all I'm saying
I highly recommend Mikk Q as the author of a Redlynx pick. He is a retired architect and professional map builder.
Author: Mikk Q
Map: DISHIN' IT OUT
Difficulty: Hard
Type: Trials
Please check out XxGATORMANIAxX his stuff is awesome. He's built some awesome buggys and helicopter and just added a fully functioning plane today. He is pushing the envelope for stuff you candy do in this game.
So many great tracks are getting lost in the pile. Please check out the recommendations in this posthttp://bit.ly/J60SKG, I think these four especially deserve consideration:
Rainbow Bright
PsychoKillman1
Pane in the Glass
Wurzel Gummmage
Asian Festival
PB 0815
Amusement Park
kronenb
And I don't know if it violates copyright, but "re: Tetris Sprint" by reaxons is one of the most original and well-done tracks I've played yet.
