Title says it, I can't get Platinum on the first track and I've given it a fair amount of go's... I am by no means a great rider, but I feel like I should be able to get Plat on the first track. Last time I looked I was ranked around 1300, with a medal count of 78 - 75 - 65 - 19.
I've watched the top replays numerous times and can't seem to get over that last ramp cleanly. Does anybody have any tips?
Also one more questions. How does the scoring work? Like what will increase my score more, shaving .5 seconds off a 30 second track or say 10 faults off inferno 3?
Thanks in advance.
1/2 second unless 10 less faults gets you to 2 or fewer faults.
You don't need to skip the plank at the end. My best time with it is 23.2XX, however, my best time without it is 24.1XX.
I had trouble platting it as well. My only advice would be to try to stay as fluid as you can in your movements.Originally Posted by Whiteout
Its always SUBSTANTIALLY better to shave off a fault, rather than to increase your time.
If the potential score you can get on a track = 100,000 then getting a fault pretty much brings it down to 50,000, and then 25,000, and then 12,500, and so on. Well, I don't think that's the right digression, but you get the idea. My point is that losing a 1 fault will always be better then improving your time.
Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated!
In HD, your score dropped 90% every fault, so 6 faults or more gave you 0 points. Evo has a floor of like 40,000 but 6 faults puts you right around that floor. Faults are huge sinks in points, but if you still have over 6 or so (depends how different the depreciation factor is on Evo), you gain 0 for removing faults, and gain score improving your 0 fault times. Best advice is to 0 fault everything that you cam first![]()
its a pretty technical platinum to get. the Beginner and Easy tracks usually are. this was one of the tougher beginner ones to get for me as well.
i assume you are using the Scorpion. i didnt clear the last ramp either. you just need to be smooth and fast through the whole run. takes some doing for sure.
Greetings,
I know exactly how you feel as I am unable to get it, shaved a bit off on the attempts I did last night but not enough.
Just cannot seem to keep smooth enough, or end up making silly mistakes which make the run a waste of time.
I got up to around 50th on this track without clearing the last jump. They key is how you take that middle section, gaining some momentum on the first 3 bumps by pulling a little wheelie then flicking back-forward just before you hit the bumps will give you a little boost. The second from last bump I just push forward and hold it so I don't go flying, works every time.
Im sure even the best of the best aren't clearing that gap every single time, it takes a perfect line into it.
Here's how I did it, hope it helps

^Just put youtube before that, it wouldn't let me post it as a link because it thinks I'm a bot but I'm not.
