I played quite a bit of hd with my arcade fighting stick, was pretty good, i feel i have more control over the rider because of the arcade stick itself, and its easier on the hands, as with a controller on most extreme trials tracks or even after hours of trying to plat/gold certain hard maps, my hands get cramped up easily and i tend to shift the left analog stick way too hard and end up hurting the tips of my thumbs fingers.
Only major drawback is not really being able to "feather" the throttle, which is obviously a major problem on obstacles that require it, with the phoenix of course, with the scorpion feathering it doesn't seem to matter much as its much better at climbing, whereas the phoenix can climb and get over the tougher obstacles muuuch easier.
I'm thinking ill have to switch back to controller to even stand a chance on the extreme tracks.
Would not being able to feather the throttle make that much a difference on the phoenix? Could i just tap the accelerator to somehow mimic feathering it?
Arcade stick is much more comfortable than a controller, especially when playing long sessions, so id rather stick with it, just wondering what people thought on the subject.
My stick mimics the games dpad, but the stick is 8 way directional so should work like the newer 360 dpads.
Technically no. Hitting "A" sends a 100% throttle signal no matter how fast the tap.Originally Posted by k0rruptid
I could see how the arcade pad would be nice in some scenarios though...
the buttons on my stick could technically be used for feathering, as they have a bit of a spring like triggers do, but no gradual buildup like the feathering.
simply knowing that its practically required for extreme/ninja tracks makes me want to just stick to controller.
thanks
