Trials Evo is literally ruining my life. How is your life? | Forums

i've been at work nearly 4 hours now and i'm struggling to keep my eyes open. i know my parenting skills will be lacking when i get home tonight as a result. and my wife will be lucky to get any sense out of me either, let alone anything else

the reason? i was up til just after 4am (when i get up at 8am for work) last night, playing Evo. plus i went to bed the same time the night before as well, for the same motherflipping reason. less than 8 hours sleep over two nights.

let me explain. i actually purposely avoided playing Evo from later than 9pm last night because i know and fear its addictive power and was trying to exercise my own, admittedly flimsy, willpower. the weekend had not involved the amout of sleep it normally does. and i vowed to fix this during the week.

so i watched a Breaking Bad, smoked, played a bit of poker, smoked, watched the Montreal Comedy Festival on TV, smoked, just chilling really. anything but play Evo. then 1am came and i was ready for bed. but i thought "i'll just have ONE quick go on Evo, been as i've been so good. just a quick 15 minute bash at, like, a tourney and a custom or something. and then go to beddybyes where Mr Sandman can bring me a dream". though maybe not a dream, cos the last dream i had was about a woman on a market stall handing me drinks with seals mouths (including whiskers) perched over the top like lemon slices. proper weirded me out.... what does it mean?!

i digress. so yeah, i kept looking at the clock doing the "one more go" chant til 4am. then i had a smoke and went to bed. then i woke up today feeling like one of the Walking Dead. i can still hear "one more go" in my head now, echoing, echoing, echoing...

so, like an addict, i'm trying to control my addiction. it didn't work last night. hopefully tonight i'll be stronger

is anybody else having their life, or their loved ones lives, negatively affected by Trials Evo?

PS. if there are any lawyers here, could i sue RL for this?
PPS. sorry for the length of the post. i feel borderline insane at the mo. no sleep is bad for ben1bob.

yup, exactly the same problem, It was my girlfriends birthday on monday, we went round to her mums house, not only was i half asleep from lack of sleep (thanks to way of the ninja, which has now been platinumed), but all i could think about was getting home and playing more Trials despite the fact I had to be up for work this morning at 5:30.

I seriously considered quitting my job to play trials, the only thing that stopped me was i wouldnt be able to afford rent, and therefore wouldnt have anywhere to play trials anymore.

I think redlynx should offer counciling for trials addiction for anyone who logs more than 3 hours a day on average

Pretty much leave the 360 on 24/7 and just flick the TV back n forth when I fancy a shot, 4 am at least every night since release. The no-lifing counter was a horrific idea...surely I've not *****ed over 34 hrs actually playing tracks up to this point?!?!?!

I can't feel two of the fingers on either hand due to cramp, at least it stopped hurting so I can keep playing.

yes once my daughter is in bed i sit there praying the wife will fall asleep on the settee so i can stick it on and play. she is a neglected wife, just as your g/f is. you are there with her in body, but your mind is elsewhere lol!

only about 17 i think. but most of that time has been in the early hours in the morning.

can't compare with you tho JoeRegular! you've played the most out of everyone on my FL! i'm well jealous...

I'm not proud of it ffs man sorta hoping the counter runs in menus and idle time...I looked at it yesterday and realised how bad it was.

like i say, i'm well jel. i could only hit your amount of hours if i just didn't sleep at all. or, alternatively, i could bump off the mrs and kid. they don't half get in the way of my fun!!!
