    Re: My first track...

Thanks man! Any tips to drop that frame rate? My complexity was really low so I wasnt sure what may have been causing it.

    Re: My first track...

i noticed a slight framerate drop on an area of my blue boxes track while i was making it and had to delete alot of high complexity items (4x4 scaffolding) that were relatively close to one another. that seemed to fix it...

its kind of hard to tell if its too complex in a certain area... but if you notice lag, downgrade to less complex items until it stops

Cool I might tweak it some more and see what I can come with, the final ramp feels a bit floaty too. Thanks for advice, I'll check out the tutorial videos too. This editor is remarkable

    Re: My first track...

Looked into it and the trees I used were too complex. I've gone back to the drawing board a bit on it now and I'm making it longer. If anyone plays it please let me know if it's a bit too easy for a hard track. I was thinking about making the transition over the cars a bit smoother and calling it a medium. I'll update this thread when I've finished improving it, and making it at least twice as long

Thanks for playing, it's been great to have a few good ratings and 4 stars for my first attempt is very satisfying, especially when one guy messages me saying it impossible to get gold on and rated it 1 star lol....thanks Willyumz for proving him wrong mate!

    Re: My first track...

ah forget about people like that, the first few people that played mine had it rated at a 3 overall and they all had 20+ faults.
well built or not, if people cant do it well they will blame the track and a bad rating is a good way to vent their frustration.

it was a tricky platinum though

Damn fine track, emcee. I would ease up on the medal times a bit. The gold time is better suited for platinum.

    Re: My first track...

Thanks lads, I definitely learned a lesson to be more generous with the medal times, and when I upload the new and improved version of the track I will make them less tight

Totally agree with this... Some gamers just want to download a track, ace it first time, get gold and be top of the leaderboard! they just don't want to be challenged or have to play the track 50 times before knowing the route.
