Congrats, man!
So, if you're recording other runs... are you going to finally put up another replay for Pink Frogs? I spent a lot of time on that track, I'd love to see another person's run on it.
^^
Of course! My goal is to have a run recorded and uploaded for every track on the leaderboard, and that includes Pink Frogs. It will only be my first-try run though, because I know myself well enough to know that if I spend some time trying to improve it I won't be able to stop until I get 0 faults...![]()
Sweet! Yeah, I wouldn't try to go back and 0f it, especially if you value your sanity. Getting to the final checkpoint in 0 would be relatively easy, it's just getting those balance beams the first time... you'd have to be a machine. Or Lestropie, maybe.
I'm really jealous of your patience. I wish I would have stayed on HD until I had earned Platinum on the last few tournaments and 0-faulted the Midnight Club. Every time I switch to HD to try for those final goals, I have to spend 4 hours getting used to the physics before I can even attempt to Platinum anything. By that time, I don't care anymore and I just go back to Evo. I'm definitely rooting for you to keep going until you completely gut those Ninjas from the inside out, or just, you know, pass them.![]()

Are you serious when you say "but my first 0-fault run was too slow for Platinum" ?
You try a ninja track level 3, you do zero fault and you say "too slow (*i can do better*)".
You are not only a ninja player, you are a ninja speedrunner ! lol![]()
^^
Haha, thanks. But I didn't try to get a faster run just to do better... it was only because my first 0-fault run was not platinum. If the platinum time was more forgiving I would have been perfectly happy with my 1:09 run.
Also, jook13 posted in the Ninja Track Video Leaderboard thread, but I think it's more appropriate to respond here:
You're absolutely right jook... that's exactly what I'm doing. The more I think about it, the less motivated I feel to move on to Evo.Originally Posted by jook13
When I first started in Trials HD, I was having a blast. So much of a blast that I decided to get more involved with the community and my own niche within the game - Ninja Tracks. After becoming an active member of the community, I was still having a lot of fun, but the game took over more and more of my life. This is of course entirely my own fault. I don't get addicted to substances... but I do get addicted to video games. I know this about myself.
You've all seen me rant before about how Trials HD practically took over my life, and how I started having much more fun with the game after everyone else moved on to Evo, which allowed me to play the game at my own pace again. From May through July of this year I spent so much time enjoying other aspects of life, and only played Trials once in a while, and I felt more happy and upbeat than I've felt in years. The only reason I started playing a lot more recently is because I injured my back (a bulged disc in my lower back) and therefore I haven't been able to go hiking, disc golfing, or biking while I go to physical therapy and wait for my body to heal...
Once I'm all healed up I'm determined to get back into that lifestyle - getting outside and living my life as much as I can. I know that if I get Evo I will become completely absorbed in the game trying to platinum everything, keep up-to-date on all my favorite creators, try to take top spots on custom track leaderboards, etc. etc.
Especially now that I've become somewhat of an icon in the Trials community (no bragging intended), I know that if I move on to Evo I will CONSTANTLY have people bugging me to try their new Ninja tracks, or to try to beat their run on a specific track, etc.
During the peak of the Trials HD years, I feel like I missed out on so many other aspects of life because I was completely consumed by the game, and I know I would become just as addicted to Evo.
I know that I'll still have the urge to get my "Trials fix" once in a while, but I can easily get this from THD... just choosing a fun Level 2 or 3 track to zero once in a while. No pressure, no goals, no community. Just me playing a game I love that no one else plays anymore. That probably sounds ******ed to most of you, but it sounds like a great plan to me... at least during this stage in my life.
I know that reading this will probably disappoint a lot of you. I get SO MANY comments on my videos along the lines of "OMG WHEN R U GETTING EVO???" ... which really does nothing but prove my point. Why do you think so many people want me to hurry up and move on? Probably so they can ask me to try to 0-fault their Ninja tracks and upload replays... or play multiplayer with them...
I'm not going to miss out on any more mountain bike rides or awesome powder days in the Winter because I slept in too long after playing Trials until 4am.
/Rant.
You could just play evolution under a different gt and not tell anyone who you are. Keep your friend list empty and play at your own pace. I just think it's a shame you don't get to play a lot of the ninja tracks that I know you will love. I will admit we are a bit like junkies trying to get you to take another hit though.
Sounds like your personal life is more important to you than Trials. How dare you!
Evo is fun and there is a lot of new and amazing content (lots of crap, too!). I do suggest you play, but perhaps you should go recluse like Murdoc and dump everyone you don't care to keep as a friend and set your profile to private. You don't need to upload videos any more because of the replay system, so you don't have to expose yourself to the public eye/pressure if you don't want to. It isn't that you were the best at THD, it was that you were/are the most exposed to the public eye.
If you're worried about the consuming of your attention/time/life in general, set your parental features to only allow so many hours/day of playing - the 'Family Timer' feature can do this easily. Come to think about it, I should probably consider this myself.
I don't want to feed the addiction here, I just want to offer alternatives that'd actually allow you to live how you'll be the happiest, while still allowing you to enjoy the game I know you would like to.
"it was only because my first 0-fault run was not platinum"
Not wrong, I agree...
+ I 100% agree to the 2nd part of your post about "the less motivated I feel to move on to Evo".
But I think you should try this game even when, there are so many new in evo.(+ DLC is comming
)
And just try to play for fun, don't try go get 0 zero fault on all ninja level 4-5 or whatever in 6 hours... lol. (or just only one, to prouve you can do it on evo.)
Even if this game is based on challenge x) ...
ps: if you have to many messages on your xbox, just write a good bio why you can't rep+ at everyone![]()
