Re: Malachyte's Trials HD Goals - No Evo 'til they're done!

    ^^

Honestly I have no idea, but I consider is completely irrelevant. Some creators make medal times for Level 4s the same way they would for Level 1s, making anything but Bronze virtually impossible. Others give VERY lenient medal requirements, to the point where I got Platinum my first time passing a Level 4, even with hundreds of faults.

That's why I made it my goal to just pass all the Level 4s and 5s. I only care about medals on tracks I can 0-fault.

    EDIT:

Well, you made me curious... so let's see how arbitrary it really is:

    Ninja [Level 4]:

Try Harder (Monstified) (141 faults, 29:47.605) - Platinum
    Bahaumut (Spargokuroth) (369 faults, 25:37.915) - Bronze
Eagle Step (Spargokuroth) (221 faults, 20:15.955) - Bronze
    Gilgamesh (Spargokuroth) (100 faults, 24:12.632) - Bronze
    Ragnarok (Spargokuroth) (262 faults, 21:55.369) - Bronze
    Sephiroth (Spargokuroth) (251 faults, 23:47.343) - Bronze
    Escape (TBNSoty) (88 faults, 18:21.197) - Silver
Kaiden Crash! (tateyosi) (205 faults, 24:39.764) - Bronze
    Plumber (tateyosi) (279 faults, 27:39.087) - Bronze
    Skills 2 (epZ Hectic) (80 faults, 11:38.856) - Bronze
    Not Impossible 3 (ericnb) (104 faults, 24:38.069) - Bronze
    DJ6 (fanbeltgattsu) (101 faults, 23:09.380) - Gold
Batman Skill (FarawayStoneY) (45 faults, 20:14.500) - Bronze
Destroyer (Loot Monkey) (100 faults, 16:08.692) - Bronze
Extreme Obstacle (Storm HOZz) (57 faults, 15:11:044) - Platinum
Obstinance (Storm HOZz) (226 faults, 22:06.437) - Silver
    Cxr=? 1.1 (barikan2) (154 faults, 28:41.101) - Bronze
    Treetops (Lifeonaboard) (186 faults, 18:04.098) - Silver
Back Assward (Murdoc Loch) (221 faults, 24:13.421) - Bronze
Garage (Murdoc Loch) (63 faults, 14:23.068) - Silver
    Ctrl-Alt-Delete (Murdoc Loch) (313 faults, 19:56.593) - Silver
Dedication (NV ii Alex) (310 faults, 28:16.739) - Gold
Unlucky 4 Advanced (NV ii Alex) (169 faults, 18:42.570) - Gold
    Insane (Pyyheliina) (86 faults, 15:11.064) - Platinum
    Unknown (Pyyheliina) (222 faults, 28:39.181) - Platinum
    @Base 1.1 (sugatin) (393 faults, 29:41.684) - Bronze
    Wargrey ( I ShArIIngaN I ) (102 faults, 27:22.254) - Bronze

    Ninja [Level 5]:

The Beyond NJ (TBNSoty) (108 faults, 16:31.593) - Gold
The Hard Way (Storm uniQ) (225 faults, 21:04.172) - Bronze
    Challenge (Pyyheliina) (77 faults, 26:32.627) - Platinum

    Yep. Pretty random...

From the Ninja Track Video Leaderboard thread:

I knew that Warlords Unite was xIRON WARLORDx + WarlorD098098 (besides Onslaught which was xIRON WARLORDx + Murdoc Loch). Back when I qualified a bunch of xIRON WARLORDx's tracks for the Ninja Leaderboard I also qualified a few Warlords Unite tracks... yet somehow I completely forgot about WarlorD098098, even though I had seen several replays on his tracks long before I became a "Trials Ninja".

A simple search revealed that he indeed has several tracks that should qualify as Ninja...

Since I discovered these yesterday I've been contemplating what to do. I know that I could have easily just ignored this newly rediscovered fact, and no one else would have noticed or given a crap since Evo is out... but I couldn't stand just ignoring tracks that should definitely be on the Trials HD Ninja Leaderboard. I certainly don't go out of my way to look for more tracks to qualify - I'm excited about finishing my goals... but I just happened to stumble upon these, and I can't convince myself that they don't exist or shouldn't be qualified for other reasons...

So, I sent WarlorD098098 a FR this morning... well... I sent him a message because his FL is full. I currently have 20 more Level 1 tracks to 0-fault... so this will slow me down a bit, but not too much I think - he doesn't seem to have anything harder than Level 2, just like xIRON WARLORDx. Stupid OCD.

Thanks man, I appreciate the support!

Well, it seems he lost everything in a HD crash... I'm relieved and disappointed at the same time. I know I'm like the ONLY good player who enjoys Ninja Physics, but I loved all of xIRON WARLORDx's Ninjas, and I think I would have liked WarlorD098098's too... oh well. Back to the remaining Level 1s. Already zeroed 3 more since my last batch, so I'm down to 17 now.

Re: Malachyte's Trials HD Goals - No Evo 'til they're done!

So... I'm contemplating adding one more item to my Trials HD Goals checklist. I know I mentioned it at some point somewhere, but I never added it to my list. Here's my thought process:

At this point I have 14 more Level 1s to 0-fault. I've already passed every Level 4 and 5 and uploaded my runs on them. I've also uploaded my first-try or first-pass runs on a good chunk of the Level 2s and 3s... which was done at the time just to clear them out of the Pending Submissions.

Therefore I'm thinking it would be cool to upload my first-try or first-pass runs on the remaining Level 2s and 3s, just to prove that I've actually passed all 596 Ninja Tracks on the leaderboard. This would obviously mean a lot of time-consuming recording, editing, and uploading... but no new skill-based goals to meet.

My main concern is that in recording and editing all these runs, I may come across some old awesome tracks I never bothered to get good runs on - Badlands by HEETSAUCE comes to mind... I'm afraid that revisiting my first-try runs on tracks like this that I haven't touched in years might lead me to think "Pshhh, this run is so awful, and this track is so amazing. I wanna zero it!"

Of course I wouldn't be tempted to do this with crappy tracks, so it may be more enjoyable than the tedious-at-times process of trying to 0-fault EVERY Level 1, including the crappy ones. But of course the bottom line is that this could potentially delay my move to Evo if I do rediscover some old gems during this process.

So here's my question to y'all. What should I do?

Record my runs on the remaining Level 2s and 3s regardless of how crappy they are, and resist the temptation to improve on even the worst runs and/or best tracks.

Record my runs on the remaining Level 2s and 3s, and potentially decide to 0-fault a handful of awesome tracks in the process.

Just finish 0-faulting the remaining Level 1s, and move on to Evo ASAP!!! (Somehow I know most of you will suggest this option...)

Just do what you like. As long as you are still having fun why should you stop?

Improve on the old awesome tracks like badlands, record all the runs and stop playing trials for a week or two to lose some muscle memory since the phoenix on trials evo is way lighter and more agile. It felt really akward for me passing from the hd straight to the evo bike.

It's up to you, but my suggestion would be to upload no matter how crappy the run is. It's called a first try for a reason, it's not supposed to be perfect.

Your taking to long. I might get on hd and zero fault some ninjas for you.

My suggestion is to upload nothing and buy evo.
