Hello all,
I'm mainly making vehicles in the editor, and i got this helicopter thing going. It handles quite well actually, with a little tweaking, it's actually pretty realistic. It takes a little bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, exploring the entire map is a very fun and fast process.
my gamertag is SerialDrifter, for the people that are interested in downloading, and feedback is always welcome.
Controls are: Left stick left and right for banking the helicopter. Left stick up and down for pitching the nose forward and back. Right stick left and right to rotate the helicopter. And R Trigger for thrust.
Here's a video of a quick flight..
I gave it a go. Was actually fun to fly around, atleast when i was able to stay on the sky.
I just need more time to learn how to handle it.
And btw it seems that (for some weird reason) the search feature is case sensitive, so it matters how GT is written. On your case serialdrifter gives nothing, but SerialDrifter shows your tracks. I recommend you to edit your GamerTag on the OP.![]()
Thanks for the heads up, i changed the tag in the OPOriginally Posted by Pecon
Glad you enjoyed flying it!
cant wait to get home and try this out!!! should be cool. Are you going to add more detail to the helicopter or are you maxed out on the complexity.
No this was just a quick prototype, it's not even close to full complexity. I'm gonna make a better one soon, including a full blown skillgame. I just used this to try some things out.
I finished a map today. It's called Concrete Jungle and it's set in an apocalyptic New York, alot of years from now, when nature has taken over. I spent a long time to make the scenery look good, and realistic, so i would appreciate it if you guys gave it a try.
Here's a little preview:

Nice track, I like how the building falls over that your in at the last bit that was a nice touch!
Just tried Concrete Jungle.
I like the theme and I think it's executed quite well. My only issue with the theme is that I think it causes a lot of lag. Something in your track causes it to be almost consistently laggy.
Did you reduce the max view distance? Since your track is quite foggy and you can't really see anything past the drive line anyways, you should be able to reduce the view and object distance quite a bit without sacrificing any quality.
Other than that, the only part I didn't like was when you have to slam full speed into that car. I'm not a fan of objects like that which are just meant to slow you down.
I also like what you did with the checkpoints, it was neat. The effect wasn't working for I think the 3rd checkpoint though.
thanks, this is feedback i can work with!Originally Posted by MikeBMT
The lag was worse before, but after playing with the view distance and stuff, it's a little less, but not gone. The complexity meter is completely full too, i don't think Trials Evolution was meant for small area's full of detail.
Oh and the checkpoints are suppose to be 'broken', some work, some don't
But this was my first map, i will keep those things in mind for the next track!
