Re: Trials Evolution: Feedback and Suggestion Thread

Instead of the current info which scrolls across the main menu, perhaps it could all just be replaced with the forum address so that we get more people on here discussing the game, its good points and any faults? I feel that would be more usefull that the current info as I never bother reading it anymore.

Re: Trials Evolution: Feedback and Suggestion Thread

    Thank you Trials Developer.....

One more thing please, i would want to search tracks by using Key Word....the reason is simple, as an exemple, i want to find tracks similar to '' Angry Bird(Biker)'' track but unable to so if there was a option to search with Key words......we could type '' Angry '' as a key word and there would be good chance that all tracks similar to Redlynxlive's track '' Angry Biker '' would be found because there is good chance fans would give similar name to similar tracks....

It could be use also if we want to search with '' Key Word '' for tracks with ( Canon, basketball, pinball, 4x4, plane, swim, fly, first person, race, sphere, hill, urban, bridge, sky etc......

A '' Key Word '' search option would be very appreciated...!

    By the way....

TRIAL EVOLUTION is in my opinion a 10/10 score game, you did an exellent job guys.....congratulation and tks...

A few of these might have already been mentioned:

    1. Ability to search tracks by title and keyword
    2. Ability to recommend tracks to friends
    3. Ability to snap certain items together - ie ramps, rails, fences

    @CitizenKhan

Those are all great ideas, even essentials, did any Redlynx employees post here about it to say when all these options will be available in Trial Evo....

One more thing that would be an awesome addition to the track editor: FREE ROAM. It's nice to be able to fly over the map, but until you actually put down a drive line you can't tell exactly how the terrain will play. Being able to go into a 'free roam' mode would allow you to determine the best place to lay your track. Currently it seems more guesswork and trial and error.

I'm not sure if such a thing would be possible, but would be nice.

I don't think it would be possible in a 2D plane, but if for whatever reason they let us drive around in a 3D Plane (ie have turning left and right enabled) that would be more possible. (Edit: What if they let us drive on an infinite straight driving line that you could rotate with the right stick as you drive?)

As for freeroaming in a 2D plane, you can technically do that now. Just lay down a driving line, and try it out. Tweak the parts you don't like, and eventually you might find what you want.

It might be interesting if there was some "randomize" option(s), though. Imagine if you could specify a few settings, and the game will seed a driving line for you, avoiding/removing obstacles (to the user's preference) and following certain rules (avoid or target hills and water bodies, for example) and then we could build around this random line.

Re: Trials Evolution: Feedback and Suggestion Thread

Firstly, I just want to say you guys have been doing great. I've been playing the Trials series since it was a flash game on miniclip. Staggering progression, and I'm glad it caught on. Also, congratulations on XBLA record breaking sales.

This is my first post, hopefully I'm not doing anything wrong.

There are a couple of things, that I don't believe would be daunting to integrate, but I'm not a developer, so apologies if it comes off as " This is so easy to implement, a caveman could do it." I assure you, I mean to present these suggestions as humbly as possible.

Something that I think would be great for every level of player, would be to practice certain sections of a given course. This has been rolling around in my head for awhile, but with multiplayer, perfection is more crucial than before. For instance, on "Way of the Ninja", I admittedly STILL have problems at the 3 slanted crates. However, If I want to practice it, I must go through the tedium of the first ~1/2 of the course, to practice. Also, on some parts, immediately after clearing the obstacle(s), I'll hit a checkpoint. This disables from practicing said obstacle over again, unless I want to repeat everything up to that point again. As far as button and UI go, it could be as simple as holding B, and using the d-pad to cycle through checkpoints. It would probably have to be restricted to checkpoints you have cleared previously, since one could just choose the last checkpoint, and finish the race. Or, depending on the complexity of this suggestion, A practice mode could be created.

I'm usually not a multiplayer person, but after finishing all the races and tournaments, I was interested, and gave it a shot. It was awesome, and surprising to see that others will get stuck at certain obstacles just as much, if not more, than myself. I haven't checked on this night, but last I played, I was ~70th in rank for Hardcore, and I don't mention this to brag, but as a testament that you did something right.
In regards to multiplayer, and I'm aware there is a thread created in regards to this, but I think it's fitting to at least mention; that being tournaments. I'm not sure if this is viable enough to use, as the demographic that this will appeal to most, may be, and I'm just guessing, rather small. For me, Hardcore Trials, 2 tracks, is just too short. If the first track is Inferno III, and one player finished, while the remaining others DNF, then as long as the next track is finished by the first round winner, then it's nearly impossible for him/her to lose. That rider is typically more skilled then his competitors for those rounds, since they were the only ones to finish the first track, and is naturally going to have a higher chance to finish the second track, relegating it to a race for 2nd place among the remaining. I believe this might give inaccurate results as far as determining whom is the more skilled rider, as personally, I've had those moments where an obstacle that I normally have no problem with, holds me up for much longer than usual, and I'll DNF, which is the catalyst for the problem I stated.
To expand upon that, I'm not certain how other players would feel about this option. It's quite often players will vote for a Hard track, over an Extreme track. Not say there is anything wrong with that, but it comes off to me as more of a choice towards a greater chance for victory, over challenge. You're R&D team seems to be quite active and receptive, which seems rare these days, so I know whatever you guys decide on will benefit both the company, and it's clientele.
If it were to be invitation, or maybe a small microsoft point fee (10MSP) to enter, maybe it would be implied that it's for serious competitors only? I'm not sure.

Gameplay itself is outstanding. You've nailed the balance between arcade and simulation. I really can't think of any suggestions for any of it. Great job.

I've always been impressed with each installment of the Trials series. Any change, however minor or major, is going to be a good one. Those were the major suggestions I wanted to propose.

To anyone who took the time to read this, I thank you. It seems to be a good community going on here, another rarity as of late. Comments/opinions are welcome, that includes disagreements, as debates just as important to creating a quality product, as suggestions are.

Re: Trials Evolution: Feedback and Suggestion Thread

Feedback you say??? How about releasing this game on the PC? I loved Trials on the PC it's where the game originated on, and Trials 2 was amazing, but ffs please release Trials Evolution on the PC. Clearly it can be done with relative ease. Sell it exclusively on Steam and make big bucks. PC gamers are dying for this...
