Allow me to briefly explain using an actual example.
Maliciousmike24 is currently #1 overall, ahead of xProfessional.
- xProfessional is DESTROYING him on every single event in the game. (case technically closed right here, it's impossible to be ahead of someone on the overall leaderboard if you are losing to the player you are ahead of on every single track in the game... but let's continue)
- Professional is #1 on half the tracks in the game and practically top 5 on all of them.
- maliciousmike24 doesn't even have top 50s on anything
- maliciousmike24 has several faults on the tournaments and professional has 0 on all but the last one
Thousands of players received extra points (millions) during the server crash yesterday.. the same way Ajuvix got his bonus points in Trials HD. Maliciousmike24 (and others) just so happened to get a ton.
cya global
PS: Talking to maliciousmike24 right now, he agrees and feels really bad about it. The important thing is that this has happened to thousands of people this time.
Possible Solution
Figure out the issue and then wipe the leaderboards.![]()
I thought this wouldn't happen again...
Sad day..
And once again the leaderboards mean nothing... And this time skill games aren't even counted! ********.
If they decide to reset the leaderboards they better do it quick while it's still early.
Exactly, I hope people will be mature about this.Originally Posted by Disolves
I agree with resetting the leaderboards. Im proud of a lot of my scores, but i would rather have the leaderboards fixed so its fair for everybody and not glitched / broken. And if resetting all of every riders scores is what that takes, then i agree with it.Originally Posted by KyoshiYozima
Agreed and far better to have to re run your times than be several or even thousands of places higher or lower than you should be. It's important they sort out the server issues first though as obviously no point resetting until they can be sure its fully resolved
MS server crashes/problems during launch day may have caused out of sync issues between track leaderboards and global leaderboard (Some players not all). We are still investigating and trying to find solution for this.
Sipe - see my post in the "Known issues" thread, which details exactly what happened here. Let me know if you want my full scoring log to see the detail.Originally Posted by sipe
(When runtimes were lost for tracks, the score wasn't subtracted. So when player re-ran the same tracks, they ended up with double score for that track. In my case, I had 4 tracks in this situation, resulting in a global score 1.2m too high.)
Since you have the times submitted for each track, is it possible to do a "mass recalculation", by calculating the earned score for each track, adding them all up, and replacing the old invalid score value with the new one?
Seems silly to wipe the scores, if you actually have all the information at your disposal to calculate what the score for each player should be.
