cya d-pad, you'll be missed.
If you move diagonal with the d-pad your rotation speed is decreased, however, if you move directly left or right (which is damn near impossible with the old d-pad model) you have the same rotation speed as the analog stick.
Basically, if you want to use the d-pad you are going to need one of those fancy new silver ones that have good accuracy. If you have just the big bubble d-pad then moving diagonal is very hard to avoid.
This is why the d-pad feels like crap to the majority of us and feels fine to a small minority.
If your controller looks like this: http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/image....L._AA300_.jpg
Then you shouldn't use the d-pad because moving diagonal will be almost unavoidable. (resulting in slower rotational speed)
But if your controller looks like this: http://techiegadgets.com/wp-content/...ntroller-2.jpg
Then the d-pad is an option for you.
I've been curious about this. So it's not the same huh? Are you sure?

definitely! I made one run on fish and then realized how much more sensitive analog is. I like analog anyway, DPAD gives me thumb cramps
As someone who thought there was an unfair advantage to using the d-pad in THD my reaction is pretty much
We can debate whether it was unfair if you'd like.
