Re: What's the point of promoting tracks - they all disappea

i've had no issues searching up a gamertag, haven't looked up that many tho...

i love the new track sharing thing, love the replays especially lol the leaderboards are great too.

i've seen the download number on my tracks go up even after it not apearing on the top 50.

this also falls back on the topic shifty made about how to promote your tracks, the whole idea on promoting your tracks and everything listed in that post will get you there. if you show up in the "most downloaded" section, as well as the highest rated sections of tracks...

also consider the thousands of people playing the game and submitting things lol

Soo much freakin complaining!!! some of you guys are so rediculous! there are going to be issues from the start! the game has only been out a few days and so the tracks that have gotten a couple ratings of 5 stars but aren't that good will eventually be overcome by the truly good tracks.

Yes there are some issues with track central searching and loading right now, but i am sure the devs are hard at work trying to fix the issues. They don't need to waste their time reading all of your petty complaints about things you know nothing about. The thought of tracks being lost forever is the dumbest thing ive heard so far.

You are going to have to promote your tracks one way or another if you want a lot of people to play it. Just because there is an upload service available doesn't mean that one persons track is just going to shine through all of the others. Your playing a sequal to the best selling game in XBLA history!! ofcourse there are going to be a crap load of people putting tracks onto the servers. so no matter how you look at it, if your track is awesome and you want lots of people to play it, you are going to have to promote it. and if your reading this then you already know where to start.

THE GREAT TRACK CREATORS WILL BE KNOWN AND THEIR TRACKS WILL BE PLAYED!!!!

Redlynx has made an amazing game with amazing capabilities. It has soo much more stuff and lots of things the fans asked for. So stop your whining and give them time to work out the kinks!

There is only one issue with the track central where I agree. One needs to see the number of ratings. Like with any statistics number, the average only becomes meaningfull when you know the sample size... i.e. you need to be able to sort by rating AND number of ratings..

A five star rating from 1000 people says more than from 2 people...

You still need to do the promotion-work by yourself but this would improve the system from a players perspective.

    Everything else is awesome!

What about increasing the hopper size from a measly 50 to say 500 ? I'm missing most of the tracks. I've downloaded the Top 50 and many are amazing... but I'm missing loads of them - by definition. Do you see the issue ? If only 50 are on the boards, we'll never get to see any new ones just as good.

Am I missing something ? What's hard to see that this is an inherent problem ?

Imagine you like 500 food items - which you would buy regularly from Tesco, but suddenly, Tesco decided only to stock 5 of them - would you like to live on just 5 items for the rest of your life ?

Why are the hoppers only 50 tracks big ?

Seriously dood stop being a spoiled baby. Look in THD there was NO leaderboards or ways to share tracks other than by friend request. Everyone *****ed and moaned and Redlynx gave us a solution. The fact that your tracks ARE up there and HAVE leaderboards should be enough.

Get good at making tracks and you will be on the top 50 you suck then people will have to search.

    Kmon really now!
This shows you don't know how the system works and haven't made any yourself.

A great track worthy of 'Canonisation', can be lost forever, witihn 30 minutes, whilst a track that is rubbish, but given 5* by just 2 of his friends, can stay in the "Top Rated" forever.

Please suss out the system properly before commenting on my thread. And of course the other comments here - and elsewhere on other threads - that agree with me.
No man you are being completely childish. They have given you all you need to get your track out there. Look at the forums you will see people like Jarrett and others promoting their tracks on their forums. You are competing against thousands of people making tracks. Stop thinking you are the only one that deserves recognition. Get your friends to play it. Promote your track by name and have people download it and try it.

Redlynx is not supposed to put your track on a pedestal JUST because you think it's awesome. Do something on your part to get others to look for it, play it and rate it.

    This is a non issue!
Okay matey... but you've missed the point completely - I don't really care about my tracks - I'm rubbish and bored of it already... I'm concerned that only 50 tracks are avaialble for donwloading in each category... hundreds will be made that are great tracks that I - and other - will never know about... get it ? It 'aint rocket science. The hoppers should be 10 times bigger.

I haven't got time to scour YouTube to look for tracks - that's the point of the User Created system - Doh !

    ^^

the track central is awesome, specially when compaired to how the track sharing was for thd, anyone who played thd alot and any other member of this forum is greatful, gamescrub did an awesome job with the site and everyone was greatful.

if you are having issues with the current sharing method, you couldn't handle thd lol, cause in the end if you want someone's tracks, jus look them up, without sending a friend request, how awesome is that?

Definitely freakin awesome!!! Totally grateful! That was the main issue with track creators/ customs players was NO SHARING CENTER! Then coupled with only being able to have 100 friends at a time made things even worse. Thousands of people cycled through my friends list. I still get requests every week.

I am so so so so happy and thankful there is track central now. Once it gets good and ironed out, it's goin to be even sweeter!
