My tracks lasted an hour at most, before disappearing.
Only the latest 50 are kept, and the highest rated 50 or so.
What's the point, when only a few people get to see them and download them ?
Within 60 minutes, 50 new tracks had been uploaded and mine disappeared.
Ridiculous - so much for "thousands of tracks" being available for download.
I'm friggin fuming !
The only way anyone can find mine, is if they're on my friends list... but I'm not even sure they can download them, if they're wiped from the server !
A simple Search by username, yields notihng.
So, we are essentially back to how it was last time - have to be on friends list, and you can play it only if you play it online, simultaneoulsy !
Is this for real? I haven't even been able to see mine, and it's kind of silly if true. Because tons of people are just posting junk levels to test out the system. If you work hard on something there should be a way to get noticed and pushed up some kind of rank system. That's good for players too, I want to be able to see the best stuff out there. I hope redlynx does what they can to promote the beter tracks, I'm sure they will, I'm already impressed with how much they improved the system from last time.
If thats the case I'd rather it go back to the old system...
The current track browser is completely worthless. Here's how I've been looking for decent tracks:
Highest Rated This Week
Select. '(1 Ratings)'. Back
Next. Select. '(1 Ratings)'. Back
Next. Select. '(1 Ratings)'. Back
Next. Select. '(1 Ratings)'. Back
Next. Select. '(15 Ratings)'. Hmm, this sounds promising.
(Whee giant ramp! Flames! Explosions! Lag!)
EuuUggh, 1 star. Next
...
Hopefully they'll fix this soon, because there are actually some pretty good tracks up already. There's just not an easy way to find them.
This could easily be fixed with an update that add's "pages". This way once you get to the bottom of the page you can press right trigger to go to the next page and left trigger to go to the previous page.Originally Posted by Gabe62

Tracks initially go into "New Trials" (for example)
Secondly, they are removed as new ones are uploaded - a max. of 50 is kept in each category.
Thirdly, if they are marked 5 * - they go into the "Highest Rated" section (50 only again !). But, these move out when they are replaced with any NEWER track, that also has 5 * !!! So, they don't last long there either !
There is no weighted average - Stars / Nos. of reviews algorithm employed. It is essentially pretty lame.
Good news though, is that the tracks do not disappear completely - you can still find them, but only if yo know what you are Searching for - by username or track name.
Any search for "genre" only, will only search the main categories (i.e the 50 left in there).
So, the bottom line is: if you don't publicise your tracks, or if you don't have loads of friends with Trial Evo (they can see them in the "Friends Tracks" section) no-one will know they exist, after about 1/2 an hour of uploading them. If you've spent a month (eventually !) making a track, this will infuriate you - and understandably so !!!
Therefore, it's a very narrow window, for peeps to download, try and rate, before they essentially disappear from view.
It sux, big time, and I for one, can't be bothered with it any more, and won't be making any, other than maybe multiplayer tracks to play with friends.

As said tracks dont disappear. They just move out of view. It just startted and lots of stuff can be done in server side. AND we will pick good stuff to Redlynx picks all the time next week.
We just played lot of different tracks in office with the team and start is MUCH more promising than HD start at this point. Really good stuff coming.
Seriously dood stop being a spoiled baby. Look in THD there was NO leaderboards or ways to share tracks other than by friend request. Everyone *****ed and moaned and Redlynx gave us a solution. The fact that your tracks ARE up there and HAVE leaderboards should be enough.Originally Posted by Gabe62
Get good at making tracks and you will be on the top 50 you suck then people will have to search.
Kmon really now!
i agree with op.
there should be an option to scroll through pages of tracks.
eventually there will be more than 50 5-star tracks...
