nice one fixing the servers redlynx, havin no problems uploading times or looking at the leaderboard now. This game is truly amazing just tryin the editor out now
There were some major server load issues in the previous hours but Microsoft has quickly moved to deploy more servers and we're seeing much better performance now.
RedLynx devs: (Please let me know if this should be submitted somewhere else)
So, I was working on the Trials Evolution single-player campaign pretty much all day long today, until the leaderboard lag issues got to be too big of a problem. I logged back on a few hours later, and everything appears to be working much better.
I noticed something peculiar, though.
The last 5 tracks or so that I completed just before quitting didn't show my scores on the track leaderboard, even though it still showed my Gold medals (this by itself didn't bother me, I know the medal counts are scored in my local profile). That's fine, I can re-run those tracks, but I wondered how this problem would impact my Global score.
Important background info: for TrialsHD I had produced a global score calculation spreadsheet (see link in my sig) and was planning to do the same for Evo, if I could figure out exactly how they calculate the scores (appears to be similar but not identical to HD). In preparation for making this spreadsheet, I have been tracking the change in my Global score after every single track run I make (yes, it's a big pain).
So I know exactly what my Global Score was after my runs on each of those 5 tracks.
After I logged back in, my Global Score showed what it had after all but the last track (so 4 tracks had been "credited", and one had not). But here's the problem: when I re-ran those 5 tracks, I got the full score increase (300,000 or so per track), instead of just the difference between my prior runs and my new ones.
So my Global Score is roughly 1.2m too high compared to reality.
But that's not even the real problem.
The real problem is that I can't imagine that I'm the only player to get hit with this score glitch. (Although I am probably the only one who was painstakingly tracking my global score by hand on launch day). Its also likely that other players probably went through many more tracks in the same time as I completed 5 (because I was doing multiple runs per track, a run each for Bronze, Silver, and Gold to see all the medal times, and all the payout amounts).
The only solution I could even conceive of would be to fix global scores by "re-calculating" them from the leaderboard faults/runtimes. Of course, I have no idea whether that's even remotely a possibility in your situation.
If necessary, I can produce my runtime/scoring logs so you can verify the details.
Although this wouldn't impact me too much as I am unlikely to ever rank high enough to care, I see exactly what you are saying and those glitched scores would make a colossal difference to the guys fighting for those top spots. As you say there are probably many others affected who would simply not notice
I thought online supercross was meant to always have you in the nearest lane? When I'm playing, I'm in random lanes.
Leaderboard probs here aswell, also the game hanged/crashed 2 times yesterday for no apparent reason while in a game (had to reboot xbox).
Also see that someone already has managed to glitch the "ski jumping game where you flap with your arms".
