    Level editor questions on making caves

    I noticed that there are a few levels that have a cave setting and I want to know the steps used in creating them. Can I build it straight into the side of a hill or do I need to create one from the ground up?

    - Are you able to create multiple curves in the driving line without having to place multiple checkpoints? Or should I adjust the area to warp back to previous desired check point?

    - I also want to know if you can trigger landscape changes through trigger events? Such as an explosion or meteor will create a crater on impact.

    - Is there a way to adjust water properties to make it similar to lava?

    - can we create our own streams, creeks, and/or rivers in the editor?

    Sorry for all the questions I have something great in mind for this game.

    I can answer SOME of your questions. You can make water similar to lava in the pro editor. Just press start, go to track settings, enviroment settings, water settings, water color, and it should bring up a color picker . It will take a while to make it look right, but just play around with the sliders until it does.

    I don't know if you can make rivers and streams, but you can make waterfalls (or lavafalls). They're in the effects section, again you'll need to be in the pro editor to change the color.

    You can curve the driving line without having to place checkpoints, just select the splinepoint (yellow icon next to start and finish lines) and copy it.

    And associated with that... if you make a cave using rocks etc., how do you make it dark ? Clearly only the far side of the rider is "enclosed" in rocks / the cave, but you need to create the impression of being underground.

    You can change the lighting effects under track settings too

    Haha, Yeah I struggled for a while last night trying to get a night time effect, whats the use of esploding things in the day time lol It does take alot of fiddling to get the correct lighting, just remember that too may lights can then effect performance so you want to play around alot with it.

    You can also place Environment changes into your level... So for example the first half of your level could be happy with sunshine, then towards the end it could get moody and dull.

    So if your level includes outside then inside a cave, the above would be ideal.

    Okay I have worked out a few things on creating my level. It's much easier to create a cave from scratch (from what I've built so far seems pretty easy) I build a section of the wall in the cave and simply copy and paste where needed. I have learned about creating trenches, streams, and pools for water. Under terrain modification tools applying multiple terrain mods on top of one another can create some interest effects. I was able to create a multi layered pool that looks quite natural. I have put a lot of hours into my track so far and I feel like I have about 1/3 of the track fleshed out and almost complete. I have uploaded a work in progress version of where I am at so far on the build. The track is titled Cave of Wonder workn progress. Search and let me know where you think I need to tweek a few points and in the track. I will be uploading up to 2/3 completion again this weekend sometime.     All clever stuff !

    I'm guessing underwater effect is blue, 'sticky' and low gravity ???

    Gotta think out of the box - or boxes... hehe Lmfao... !!!
