Funny you say that. 2001 is my dads "hands down most favorite" movie of all time. I never got it. Seemed too slow to me, but he says that's part of the beauty. Or something.
Though he's never mentioned anything deeper about it to me. Just that "I REALLY should watch it" ... but regarding Kubrick and his riddles... anyone seen Room 237? It's about his film, The Shining.

That lump of crazy-fan forum-nerd edge-of-your-seat psycho-rambling is actually one of the best head scratching "Is this for real?" documentaries out there. If what goldfinch said above interested you even in the slightest, check it out. Room 237.

I handled all my audio analysis with a direct line from my Xbox360 to my PC. I have a decent recording here, but won't release it without permission from RedLynx. I mean, because I'm pretty sure there's like, laws and stuff. If there's something there though, I would image it is still accessible from a lower/compressed bit rate (like the morse code) found in the video that Murdoch uploaded.

It might not be what the whispers are saying though. It might be directing us back to the whispers other eggs had (or just completing a theme). Like the one when you go backwards near the beginning of Falling Down. I think one of the planks I found had a very gusty wind sound. And it really is hard to know whether these are things chosen for effect, or if there is a deeper purpose. Like what if some have whispers, and some have wind? What if some have nothing? And this could serve as a way for us to separate them...

And naturally, when there's whispers involved, you'd think they gotta be saying something. Except sometimes sound samples for whispers will be nonsensical on purpose.

I still can't help but feel like there IS more to come from that song though... The lyrics just have so much more depth to them than we have explored (successfully).

    Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs

"Bring the thruth into the light"

The answer would be hidden in the brighter tones. Up to this point we have interpreted the song very literally, we deciphered the hidden code and found that it was pointing us towards Lucretius. The Latin passage that was found is part of 'The praises of Spring' and reading about this passage I find it's content could be relevant for the rest of the riddle.

Lucretius' concern is with the physical power of nature, positive and vigorous, as manifest in renewed growth every spring. Reading about the poem and its meaning I found out it relates to Epicurism. The spring theme you read about suggests that the recreation of life is a cycle. Lucretius ment to say that the discussion of the existance of a golden age or past perfection is irrelevant, that inner peace is found by accepting that what happens is simply a rearrangement of everlasting atoms over and over again. He believes the key to be in the future rather than the past, the opportunity of a better life is ever available.

If we step away from interpreting the song literally it could be referring us to an other truth, the poets truth or epicurian truth. Man's life is shown in the poem to be defined and limited by unanswerable questions. To suggest the primacy of mystery, each book is given its share of mysteries or happenings whose cause is not known or that exceed previous knowledge and experience (quite a few easter eggs could come to mind here!). Nature is therefore seen to remain unencompassed by previously observed signs. Nature's power is seen to remain mysterious, vaster than man's ability to catalogue.

All of this started in a track named 'Nature Calls' where the platinum heading reads "You have become one with the nature.". That is pretty amazing to me! And although what I have written above does short to the vast complexity of Lucretius book, Lucretius' ideas could have been intended to offer a mindframe to interpret the riddle.

...Then again none of this is very tangible and has that THD riddle feeling wich wouldnt be returning this time around

i think the checkerboard egg is related to the squirrel on the track blacksite. i think the squirrel is talking, it sounds like its been speeded up. if we can slow it down, it might give us the sequence/co-ordinates for the checkerboard.

I have recorded it, slowed it down and you're right, something is being said... but what I cannot hear right now.

    Edit, sounds like gibberish

Okay, here is a file in MP3 format of the squirrel talking. To me it sounds German. That's where I can no longer be of any help.

I slowed it down 40% and the pitch was changed. Then I cleaned it up with a noise reduction filter.

I stopped recording after about 2 or 3 minutes, uncertain about whether it had run its loop or not.

    Good luck guys.

    Re: Trials Evolution Easter Eggs

I really think it's German. But there was a part I almost thought it sounded Latin or Spanish (maybe Esperanto...?) and it had me thinking "Oh man, please don't let this be a jumble of different languages. But ANBA isn't that cruel. Right...? So anyways... maybe there is some Russian in there.

I'm going to have to "pass the torch" on this though. I'm "mono-lingual" and have a theory but I'm the last one you want to test it out.

There seems to be an almost consistent gap of about 2.5 seconds between the small spurts of speech. It does (maybe) vary though. I think (it's been a long day).

I tried cutting out some of the gaps, but am unable to distinguish between good and bad sounding foreign speaking. It's all Greek to me.

Who ever wants to try this, you can eliminate most of the warble noise by cutting out the left channel and replacing it with the right. I use Goldwave. LINK

I tried to find a loop point, but the first part (which to me, sounds like "Zee Upsy Daisy" i know, i know) is what I used to find a loop point. Problem is, that phrase (or whatever) repeats with differing parts that follow it. swear if there was a little emoticon guy for :shrugging: it would be all over this thread, as well as this post)

I'll do what I can to help ANYONE get to know their way around Goldwave through PM's or whatever. Like I said though, it's been a long day so please be patient.

**EDIT** switched out the innocent yet hostile sounding "google it" phrase for a more friendly link to goldwave website
also considered adding more references to the length of my day. decided against it.

It is actually the root of 225 and was already linked to doing 15 flips.

Correct me if I am wrong someone.
