Let's face it. While many people will have great ideas for tracks, few people will be able to adequately make that idea come to life in the form of a solid, entertaining track. This thread is here to allow people who may have great ideas for tracks, but cannot see themselves being able to invest the time into (or simply don't have the creativity associated with) physically manifesting a track in a way that will truly equal the quality of their original idea. Even if the idea is a little rough around the edges, I believe that track creators will be able to scroll through this thread and find fresh ideas that will inspire them to make new tracks.
To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, I'll provide an example.
A Titanic-themed track. By this I mean a ship that is sinking at an angle and taking on water. This provides an uphill design, with the track becoming increasingly more challenging as the ship nears vertical and more objects are being destroyed. The track could end with the player reaching the front of the ship and launching off the front(or top by this point) of the ship onto a little raft or boat and floating away.
I want to do a recreation of this video of the song Larvae by PORTAL.
But I'm not really sure on how to do it![]()
Easy man. Just make a track that really goes nowhere, remove all colour so it's black and white, then finds the worst music that comes with the game. Hey Presto - there's your track!Originally Posted by stiggyhead
Just kidding. The visuals would be good. Especially that old timber house/building. Would make for a really good backdrop to a race through Deadwood or some similar 1800's american western frontier city.
My idea from the Track Editor Tutorial Thread:

Some good ideas there, pretty much a list of other games the author would like to see remade in Trials Evo. I'll list them here for your convenience, but definitely click through and see what he says about each one:

Regarding Smash TV, the author says:
Let’s be as direct as possible here. If there’s a worthy Smash TV clone made that author can contact our Managing Editor directly for two free XBLA games of their choice from his personal code collection. It doesn’t need human players, but it does need to play the same way.
So far my track's a free roaming adventure on a dying alien planet lol.
I love the editor in this game, it feels as good as Farcry 2's editor and in some cases better.
How about making your local area in your city? It'd be a little tricky getting it to look the same, but would be great fun for friends or those who recognize it.
Jaws 4
You are racing along the debris of a shipwreck bobbing in the water, with a shark fin just inches away.. Better keep that speed up or the shark will catch you and take you under![]()
Miniature Golf skill game. You are the ball (Camera is above and behind ball), Aim with Left stick, power up with A (use a meter), let go to "hit" the ball. Physics ensues.
Just thought of a really awful idea for an "educational" mini-game: a track with a giant grid, where you're not following the visible driving line; you're following its derivative![]()
I have an idea for a track that remember the boss of the 2nd level of metalslug 2.
Imagine: your riding your bike and passing obstacles around an enormous obelisk while a few meters down there's that machine following you. If you fall nearby the machine, you crash. If you complete the track, the machine explode! It could be improved making the obstacles you already passed destroyable by the machine, and adding some missiles going from the bottom to the top of the scene. Off course some random attacks would be nice, but that requires HOURS of programming...
