    Trials Evolution Trial Version

in the trial version for Trials HD you could not use the phoenix bike. and aside from a few tracks, the scorpion just isnt as good.
more importantly, its not as fun to use as the phoenix. theres so much that you can do with the phoenix that you cant with any other bike, its kind of the core game experience.
and yet you couldnt 'experience' it in the trial version.

i was wondering for evo, if people think it would be a better idea to include the phoenix bike in the trial version and why it wasnt included in the free version of Trials HD. was it because they didnt want to give too much away for free or so that they could leave a big part of the game as an 'unlock' about halfway through?

evo will be huuge. but not everyone out there will buy it straight away. there will be thousands of people who will download the trial version first and decide based on that and im wondering if they get to use the phoenix in the trial version, will it convince more people to buy the full game than if they didnt get to use it

The phoenix is certainly a more versatile bike, and the better acceleration makes it the fastest on most tracks, BUT it is also the most difficult bike to ride (besides the Donkey bike).

Just holding down the gas off the start line in the Phoenix on most tracks, and you will flip out.

I think holding the bike off until we know the rider is more experienced (has passed several license tests) is a good thing. I don't see the need to include it in the trial.

I doubt most people who are playing the trial version will have the skill to appreciate the benefits of the Phoenix over the rest and it would probably make the game seem less accessible to new users because of its comparitive difficulty.

Also, remember the bikes aren't the same in Evo and HD.

Scorpion now has more power, wheras the Phoenix has less than that, but will allow more finesse. There isn't one "best bike" anymore. The Scorpion is a Trials bike whereas the Phoenix is stated to be a motorcross bike, where an error will make you slower than the scorpion, but it's faster if you keep the flow.

I struggled with the Turtle when I first played Trials and unlocking the Phoenix brought a whole new world of hurt upon me. It took me ages to get used to and I remember using the Scorpion as much as I could.
Now obviously I would use the Phoenix all day every day, and as most of us are now seasoned Trialers, to us it is the core experience.
But for anyone new, I will feel sympathy for the first few weeks of playing
Beginners need a slower bike in my opinion.
As for us lot, we aren't going to be playing the trial version are we?

Euphoric, I will certainly play the trial version for a good 20 hours or so before deciding on whether or not I wish to purchase the game.

When I play a demo of something and afterwards decide to buy the full game. I do not unlock the demo. I delete it and download the full version of the game. Otherwhise I feel like I have paid for nothing, I know sounds ridiculous.

Thats pointless. When you download the demo of an arcade game you are downloading the full game. The only thing is that everything that they dont include in the demo is locked. So when you purchase the full game you are essentially purchasing a key to unlock everything that was locked in the demo. Your just wasting your time doing it your way.

Dont make that mistake when downloading Evo if you download the trial version first.

I know, that was why I said it is really ridiculous . Just gives me a better feeling.
But there are arcade games by Redlynx and twisted pixel where I just download the game without trying it first. Also I prefer reading reviews on the internet. Gets you an opinion of the entire game faster.
