The only thing i can think of is to start taking down names until a certain date..then put them all in a hat so you have like a championship with rounds, but in muliplayer..then the winner plays the winner etc until 1 person wins in a final head off of 5 tracks chosen by random players from the championship.. also, second place losers from the "quater finals" have a head of to see second place...this is a proven way as its done in sport competition, so it WILL work..there will be alot that enter, but i really dont think hundreds or anything like that. and ,people will drop out..thats a fact.....we cant help wot happens in life so people are bound to drop out...

We must not forget the average rider here. Its all fine doing competitions that is only really for the top few players.

Maybe seperate it via divisions! IE, based on leaderboard standings, you can only enter a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze division... gives you a fair chance.

Platinum for the top 1000 in the leadboards.
Gold from 1001 to 10,000
Silver 10,001 to 50,000
Bronze for anyone over 50,000

So every compition has 4 branches!

I completely agree and +1 this idea. One main reason I never really competed in THD comps is becuase I just can't compete with the top guys that would always win. Playing with people similar to my skill level would be SO much more fun.

I think the top tier should be the top 250, I noticed a huge skill gap from 1000 to 250
