Greetings,
Is the editor for Evolution going to have scripting support?
If so what language is it going to use and are there any plans to release information about it?
Yes.Originally Posted by UseLessUK
We have designed completely unique visual scripting system. It doesn't require any coding skill but understanding basic coding principles might help to understand how you can use it to create complex logic systems.Originally Posted by UseLessUK
But everyone should be able to create cool stuff without any problems.
We are going to release complete editor tutorial series which will covers all the thing you need to know about the new editor. (including scripting system)
No wonder the game took such a long time to complete!!!.... And the wait is almost over!! woop woop.
I keep getting a bad feeling that come april 10th.... MS is going to delay evo a while longer...
If you have played Littlebigplanet, many of the more advanced users have created levels with a sort of visual logic system. I guess Trials will probably like that! LBP's community has made some really awesome stuff. Can't wait to see what the Trials community comes up with.![]()
Its nothing like in LBP. LBP works like electric circuit board and it requires kinda of heavy understanding how logic gates (AND/OR/XOR/NOT/NAND/NOR/XNOR etc) and other components works.Originally Posted by ColonelJuju
Prepare to be amazed!

Infamous 2 mission editor had a pretty neat scripting system, though difficult at first, I soon taught myself how to use it effectively without looking at any guides. From what Sipe posted, it seems like Evo's editor will be much, much more advanced.
When building missions in Infamous 2 it helped to think of the logic system as a flow diagram: When this happens, this will happen. E.g when all enemies group 1 are defeated, trigger checkpoint 1. I was creating some rather advanced logic scripts with just a little practice.
I'm beginning to wonder what kind of logic events you could place in a regular track, more than just simple physics objects, maybe puzzles? We will see.
