I'm not 100% certain on this but pretty sure there isn't a single country on the planet that isn't in debt of billions-trillions, if there is it's very few. How people can sit back and accept this as normality is quite incredible. The banking system as we know it today is the greatest scam in human history in my opinion.

For those who were not aware, before the invasion of Libya, Libya had it's own central bank (state owned) and the country had no debts.. Now.. Under the thumb of the IMF it's in the billions already...
    +1, well said that man!

Oh, you know those "companies" that get your PPI money back? A mate of mine who used to work for NatWest says they are ALL owned by the banks............Great Britain is rotten to the core!

Just as a heads up, I think most intelligent people are aware of these issues and whilst they accept this as normality they wish they didnt have to

Most people however dont keep going on about it because there doesnt seem to be an obvious solution and there is no point mentioning it unless you think that you can do something about it

why bother mentioning it unless you're actually trying to make things better

a quick summation and overview so it doesnt have to be said again

-Banks thinking in the short term *bad*
-Lending and borrowing money when it can't be paid back *bad*
-Banks thinking solely about thier profit margin rather than about what will help in the long run *bad*
-Massive debts that countries have no hope of paying off *bad*
-People not caring about these things *bad*

-People not mentioning these things because they don't have fix for it and going on about it wont make it any better *normal*

I appreciate what you're saying regmen, I know it's far too easy for people to become consumed by such issues and that surely is not good. You have one life, have to try and be happy, live it to the fullest etc etc.

At the same time though, if people are actually talking to other people about such issues and spreading awareness that's a good thing I think, awareness is the first step to actually solving the problem in my opinion.

I'm really not convinced that many people are aware of the flaws in our banking system, if they were there wouldn't be so much naivety around the issue of trying to save money and the support for a tory government set on punishing the poorest in our society.

If the media/tv talked about it in depth, alot... I think we would see quite a rapid change in general perspective.

basically its an IOU, it doesnt have to be worth anything on its own
Fair comment, but if it isn't worth anything on it's own, why refer to British money as stirling...........as in stirling silver? I don't call British money stirling, because it isn't. Or is it because it has the head of the Queen on it?

    Good debate btw.
Arguing the definition of money on wiki, ouch. Sorry but if you want to know how money really works, you have to learn about "fractional reserve banking". The rabbit hole goes much deeper but basically the Banksters are running a Ponzi scheme that endebt/enslave all countries, keep dividing us and make countries fight useless wars and keep brainwashing people with their regulated medias. Some people have been aware of the "Matrix" for years and some are waking up but most have gladly swallowed the blue pill, preferring blissful ignorance to the ugly truth.

It's not always as simple as, "gladly swallowed the blue pill". You could go the rest of your life pissed off at how ugly the world is and how horrible we are as a race of people but at some stage you just have to accept that this is the way that the world is and start enjoying your own life. No matter what form of government we have or whatever, we as humans are genetically hardwired to cheat, steal and kill in order to get our own way.

    I do not agree.

We may be hardwired to do whatever necessary to survive, like any other animal would.

But you're talking about killing, cheating and theiving as if it's something that can't possibly be solved so why bother...

It seems like a logical assumption that, the more difficult it is for humans to get access to the resources they need, the more they will cheat, steal or kill.

This is something else that's never discussed by mainstream media, or very very rarely. People live with an assumption that criminals are just "bad people", the only way to solve it is to make prison sentences tougher...

So incredibly dumb really.... The world is ******g stupid....

I believe that we are all capable of being criminals when we end up in certain situations. I'm not saying we shouldn't bother trying to solve crimes but we as a society have to exist with the knowledge and awareness that crimes is a fact of modern life. From my experience, altruism is a myth and people will f**k you over if it's in their interest. The world rewards selfish greed. It's a dog eat dog world so you have to become a wolf.
