I just wanted to try and clarify my point in the last paragraph. willyumz your trying to apply equality in todays world which just couldnt work, that's why it's illogial.
For a start, consumerism would be terrible in a equal society, rapid consumerism which feeds todays society would be complete opposite in an equal society.
Mechanisation in todays world is also terrible for the vast majority of individuals because it reduces jobs, and thus reduces purchasing power of individuals. but of course, mech is great for business owners, it reduces costs etc, machines are faster etc etc. Mech would be a priority in an equal society.
I support a resource based economy regmen, as millions of others do. I'm not naive enough to believe it will happen in the near future though.
Fact is, the system we have now has to fail, it has to get really really bad for people to actually fight back... Like the global riots we had recently, but obviously far bigger.
