You're right,in fact people aren't concern until it happens at their door.
What I find odd, is that we are shown "pull at your heartstrings" ads all year every year...........& with the BILLIONS made worldwide.........it still isn't sorted..........now that I find odd! Anyhow, back to the killings in France, there is a bigger picture here, but I won't get into that, or I would get banned!

    True shifty.

Allowing kids/adults to suffer, whether in sweat shops, starving, forced into prostitution, homeless etc etc seems worse than this though.

But it's not a dead weight, it keeps growing and growing. As fast as charities try and help these people, the world bank and IMF are creating more poverty globally. Some of the poorest countries in the world are paying up to 70% back to the IMF whilst the population starve.

It's easy to say, "they shouldn't have borrowed the money then" or something like that, but it's far more complicated than that.

Read, or listen to John perkins...

I know it may sound far fetched, conspiratorial, or whatever you want to call it but ever since the 50's the USA has been assassinating, overthrowing, or otherwise disrupting power in countries that do not obey their wishes for resources, or whatever else.

i dont find it odd. its a shame but i dont think its strange.

you used the word 'indirectly' and thats pretty much why. theres a big difference between making the choice to murder someone and not sending aid to africa etc.

there are too many people in the world. there are not enough resources/enough space to give everyone the quality of life we enjoy in the west.
and thats no ones fault. some people are born into a prosperous part of the world, some people are born into poverty and i wont feel guilty for that.

    murdering people is different.

Put them in a room with the mother for an hour, if they survive they go free...

    That would be justice

The luxuries we enjoy would simply not be possible without the poverty of the third world. The vast majority of the things we consume, use and throw away are a direct result of us exploiting the poverty and debt we create in third world countries. Trust me, the day millions of third world labourers stop being economically forced into taking jobs that pay $0.10c per hour is the day we no longer can afford tv's, xboxes and everything else.
