Years ago I'd agree with you regs. All day everyday, then it messed with my brain and I can't even look at it no more. Still love the smell but one little puff and I need to sit on my own for a while![]()
Booze was the replacement.
For the past several years I've been making a collection of beer bottles, probably well over 300 by now. I gave up doing the usual Bud Light type stuff and aim to try something new any time I decide to have a drink. I'm no alchie, just a bit of a connoisseur I guess![]()
A few faves I've developed over time would include IPA's, some of the dubbel and trippel bock types, and the various wheat beers, like Blue Moon, Shock Top, Hoegaarden, etc.
I'd recommend to anyone a St. Louis, MO based brewer called, Schlafly. Schlafly has a lot of great flavors, my favorite being the seasonal Pumpkin Ale. I hate pumpkin pie, but this beer is delicious! And it's 8%![]()
Movement you just reminded me of one of the greatest brewers of all time - Brew Dog! I'm not really one for IPAs but getting it on draft from their own damn pub was pretty spectacular.
I feel sick..at least fallouts are of the menu.. apparently march 14 is steak and bj day... news to me but hey.. I have steak, although she ate hers, while I got pissed..
Would of been nice to get told before I drank ...
Bugger...
Ha! Made me think of Brew Dog too. Really cool that you went to their pub, care to elaborate on "pretty spectacular"?Originally Posted by BADMANLOL
I looked around the Brew Dog website, they have an interesting looking lineup of beers. I also found that I have had one of theirs, the Great Divide Hercules Double IPA. Very Hoppy!Originally Posted by antng
Also, here's a link to the Pumpkin Ale page at the Schlafly website, if anyone wants a look![]()

Well for starters I had no idea Brew Dog had a pub at all, let alone a few. I went to the one in Edinburgh a few weeks after it opened. Rustic stained wood panels on the bar and exposed brickwork on both the floor and behind the wall, as well as pretty much floor to ceiling windows. Despite the sparse decoration and high roof, the pub (all one room) was full of atmosphere, probably from people so surprised they had no fosters or carlsberg to choose from and had to go for one of the IPAs on offer. I had a couple of pints of their ruby ale, 5 AM Saint I think, and it was sublime! Very smooth, almost velvety in texture and I remember tasting so many layers of subtle sweetness without it being overpowering. I mostly remember the caramel and peach flavours coming though beautifully, though there was also a little hint of some tang that I couldn't quite put my finger on...Originally Posted by antng
