    Ski Jump help??

One thing that's really frustrated me the whole time ive played trials HD is that I can't for the life of me manage to get a proper good score on either of the ski jump skill levels. Is there some kind of trick that I'm missing or is it half luck and half skill?

Any help or tips would be much appreciated!

Once airborne, use the D-Pad to hold up and to the right. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but this is my understanding:

If you hold diagonally up and to the right on the D-Pad you are getting 100% up + 100% right. If you do so with the control stick it's more like splitting the difference. Think of the range of the control stick as a circle and the D-Pad as a square.

Also, after you bail hold down LT which puts you into the "cannonball" position and makes you travel further. Watching what people do on the replays really helps but there is a huge amount of luck involved.

Non DLC ski jump-do a hard spring jump and when the bike explodes, the flyin debris will hit you half of the time and make you go a bit farther. All of my high scores on this has been a result of that.

DLC ski jump- watch the top replays, usually youd see a little tap of the gas goin down, this is to help you lean back- all it comes down to is timing your spring jump. Will take you 100's, even 1000's of tries but you'll get it.

As the guys above pointed out, hold down up and right on Dpad for maximum efficiency as well as holding LT after jumpin. This makes all the difference. If you wish, you can also try using the dpad for spring jumpin.

You use a scorpion in ski jump so use the D-Pad, so much easier and get quick responses, push forward pull back to create a wheelie, maintain balance by tapping and then push forward and press Y when at a 45 degrees angle to create speed and height leverage, keep d pad in top right position and hold LT to make the character curl up like a ball so you can get extra meters out of your jump.

I have played a lot of Trials in my time but what the hell is a spring jump? I've watched the top (legit) replays on the non-DLC one and can't see anything special...

Also thanks for the tips about the D-Pad guys, I've literally never used it so will give it a good shot tonight when Mrs. BADMANLOL is at her parents house. I always thought the cannonball pose was done by holding Y at the right time so that you can grab your own legs somehow...how wrong I was!

Do a wheelie up the ramp, then as u hook ur front tire over the ramp, press all the buttons at the same time.. like a sling shot.. for me about 1 in 20 attempts it works out.. and u go flying.. then if your bike parts hit u .. ( which never worked for me.. u go further.. I've a good distance using this " lucky " method .. the dlc was a bit harder to do but same " technique "

    Re: Ski Jump help??

Well, managed to get platinum on the 1st ski jump after 2 attempts and improved my score by 30 metres already with a few turns on the DLC one. Cannot believe that the D-Pad is such a beast for it!

    Thanks again guys!
