I'm sick of this crap all over my facebook. Invisible children are the "charity" responsible for Kony 2012. They do not disclose financial statements at all. These financial statements have been requested numerous times by different charity review organisations but Invisible Children won't tell anybody what exactly they're doing with their money. You'll also notice on their website which looks more like a fashion shop's website than a charitys, that there's no mention of what percentage of donations or purchases actually go towards doing anything.

They are not the transparent, altruistic, organisation that they claim to be, they are exploiting for their own gain. I'm sick of crap like this.. All it takes is a flashy, professional, zietgiesty video and all of a sudden people are ready to open their wallets without any research at all. It's pop culture propaganda taken to another level. It's truly scary to think of what people are willing to do when an organisation appeals to them on the right emotional level. This Kony 2012 thing just highlights how susceptible we are in the modern world to advertising.

Dude give a **** about there transparency there trying to help something more so than you or I are doing, all there asking is for you to reblog the video and help spread the word. Why not just deal with it and shut up.


So many people are ready to pop- the bubble yet do !"#¤ all themselves to help any organisation. Why is it in 2012 people constantly want to argue or fight against something that is clearly a good cause. Do you question everythings ethics before reading, purchasing, or looking into it ?

Because starvation and Aids are bigger problems. Because Kony is no longer really a threat. Because the charity behind it are exploiting people's emotion and ignorance. Its a scam and it's ********. Also, be aware that the three founders are making 80,000$+ per year and there's also testamonies by Ugandan people who say that they are corrupt, they bribe government and that they walk around calling themselves "movie directors" so excuse me if I'm not buying this crap.

There is a place where you can buy the kit on the IPhone app store I think, and under the licence and agreement it does state that 100% of the money donated goes straight to aiding the charity

All that means is that 100% goes towards the charity without mention of how they use it and how much gets caught up in "administration". Look at their headquarters for gods sake.

If you're going to start insulting people and want to be taken seriously at least get your spelling right. I would see somebody who questions things logically and researches the topic in order to have some sort of reasonable input rather than just trolling as more of a hope for humanity than you.

My girl works with refugees and asylum seekers directly and sees the effects (in real life, not just the internet) of issues like that in this video. If you don't know where your money is going you shouldn't donate as there is so so much abuse of power in numerous governments there that in effect you could be making matters worse. Yes, I'm aware that I made a massive generalisation here but I haven't got time to chat about individual examples.

This is also a much bigger issue in the DRC.

Only got around to reading this article now. Very interesting. Anyway, I'm done with this topic, it has caused me endless stress and arguments over the past couple of days everywhere ive been. People who know my point of view coming up to me in college and calling me all sorts of crap. As always, emotion > reason. I give up.
