    Alan Wake: American Nightmare

    Hey all,

This game is quite good fun actually, the dialog is very good, the graphics are pretty impressive, & it somewhat of a spooky game, however.........it is too easy!

Are there no difficulty settings? Because I can't find any...

Go for #1 on the leaderboards like everyone else who thinks the game is too easy.

Get #1 on the leaderboard if the game is so easy... That's what people do when a game is too easy, it provides a challenging aspect of the game.

And how is challenging yourself to make the game more difficult by trying to accomplish a high score "kiddish"?

Sounds to me like someone is exaggerating about the game being too easy. If this was the case then surely you'd be smarter enough to figure out a way to make the game challenging, (aka getting a top score). The linear part of games nowadays are (usually) always easy for the adept gamer, the devs aren't going to make the game harder.. So find a way to make it harder for yourself! Below is a perfect example:

Psh... passing Inferno II was so easy...

0 faulting it, however, is a level beyond passing it.

Then getting it under a minute is a level beyond 0 faulting it.

Then getting it under 40 seconds is a level beyond getting it under a minute.

So on and so forth. Do you understand? These games have scoring systems for a reason.

If you're looking for a greater single-player challenge and haven't played it yet, try the original Allen Wake. It has the same general mechanics, excellent production values and it's a good deal creepier. After you clear it once it unlocks nightmare difficulty, which ramps things up noticeably.

From what I understand Remedy deliberately shifted focus to a more accessible, action oriented approach for American Nightmare, whereas the original has a less powerful protagonist, limited supplies, and is more difficult in general (some folks had trouble with ammo management).

What I said came out wrong, I shouldn't of said it is for kids, sorry if I offended anyone, I didn't mean to.........I should of said it isn't that important to me (high scores), oops!

If I get a better score on something, brilliant.........& if I don't, oh well!

But I do find AW:AN easy, I wish it had difficulty settings on it...
