Just bought T2SE, Any tips for a noooobie??

Bored with trialshd already so i thought id play a little T2SE before Evo releases...

Awaiting an email with serial number, but not sure how long that would take tho. No rush, i ordered a wired black controller (they didnt have that locally) so i should be playin within a week!

Any tips for a THD veteran but noob to T2SE? Mad respect to all elders.

Awesome! Welcome to the best game of all time!

People will tell you to get used to the keyboard, but after hours upon hours of playing THD with a controller, maybe your best bet actually is to keep your settings. I dunno. t2 IS easier with a keyboard, but I guess it's all about what we're used to.

Tips, hmm.. other than "don't fall" I'm not sure. The bike is a lot bendier than the Phoenix. It's slower to manoeuvre, and you'll soon find that many techniques that are common in HD won't work here. Conversely, there's a lot you can do with this incredibly fun and playable bike that you can't in HD. I always preferred the t2se bike, there's just this feeling that you can push it to its breaking point and do some really cool stuff. Not that you can't with the Phoenix, but.. it's just different.

I know you've had (or maybe still do? idk) world records on THD so there is good hope for you my friend. Many old HD players have made some impressive debuts on t2se in the name of familiarity with the genre. T2 is a bit more hardcore, I think this is accepted as truth rather than opinion these days, so if you can 0-fault all hard tracks before Evo is released, I know I'd be impressed!

Keep posting any specific questions you might have, we'll try to give you some good answers.

Sure will do when i get started on it. I intend to watch alot of replays at first, study the bike a little bit then mess around and get a feel for it. The only WR ive had was on The Weakest Link <3...but that got taken away from like 3 guys in a few days and i havent attempted to really take it back lol. I hope to get one in T2 but who knows!?

I just cant play any games except Tinker with the keyboard. Hell, i dont even use the dpad on HD. Analog all the way for me. But i will accept your challenge and take Inferno with a controller.

When you actually start to play with keyboard PLEASE to god don't do it as wrong as the last HD guy trying to use the keyboard.

    pointer on Left
    middlefinger on Gas/brake
    ring finger on Right

^ thats how the real pros do it

    - in trials 2 you can bounce off the ground
    - when you start flipping you will gain endlessly "flip"speed (bike will glitch when you do it too fast(watch 90% of norfairs runs(not really)))
    - you can actually compare 2 replays with eachother (glitch) by selecting the first replay, playing it and saving it as replay on your harddrive. then you GHOST another replay (i hope you know what that means ) and after you started the ghost replay you go back to the menu and to replays and select the replay you saved in the first place. **** ill make a video

yeah i dont know .. just do ur thing ull find it out

That's not how the pros play. Thumb for brake obviously.

I have Xpadder I think which I use to remap the buttons for my wired Xbox pad.
I might still have the installation file if you want it (it's an older freeware version). I'll drop my Trials configuration file in there too if you like.
PM me your email and I'll do it when I can.

Thanks EF. I plan on hookin up my wired controller when it gets here. i dont think it would require any configuration.

I finally got a response from one of the devs with the serial number so i got on the full game last night....saw a few tutorial replays.

Im just curious, if some of you are familiar with the whiplash effect on HD (where you land on your back tire and lean forward, usually between a downward slope and flat ground) does it work the same way in T2? I noticed the same motion but instead the 2 tires would squeeze inwards. What is that?
