Has anyone played the Demo ? Loving it. the soundtrack is ace too. making a torrent as we speak!
A legal torrent of some freeware, I assume?Originally Posted by CrispySquirrel
I played the demo, then the next day went to the shop and cancelled my pre-order.
I thought it was shocking. The graphics were hideous along with a dodgy framerate.
And what is up with the ridiculous rotations? SSX was all about hitting 1080's but to rotate double that just seemed stupid. It made every trick look the same.
Ill admit its not as sharp as i thought itd be. Its still fun but looks like a rental more than buy for me.
I didn't really mind the graphics, but I agree about the framerate. The level design doesn't appeal to me either. Another thing is the constant hand holding, nothing turns me off more gaming wise than a game that plays itself (locking onto rails for instance). Also, what's up with the turning?Originally Posted by EuphoricFusion
SSX was my first PS2 game; I am a long time fan of the series but this game is a disappointment.
I loved SSX Tricky. Awesome soundtrack.
But to me this new one doesn't look much different to what I remember on the PS2.
The textures were horrible and the whole image looks like it's upscaled from a sub HD resolution.
The characters models were average at best and the inside of the chopper looks almost PS1 bad.
When I heard that Camo and Krooked worked on the soundtrack I was pretty excited.
Breezeblock is a proper dirty tune and worthy of a better game.
Ps. Just thought that the graphics look like the Battlefield beta.
Not heard of an HD texture pack for SSX though.
Well to be honest i know the game is almost out but im sure they have made some finishing touches to it all, i have been enjoying the demo, and am quite looking forward to going down mount everest at stupid speeds dodging trees and using my wing suit, yea the mountains on the demo were a bit boring but im sure the full game with have some great runs on it
I remember long ago when they announced this game, it was being described as very physics based and more of a survive down the mountain type of game. They even stated that Trials HD was a big influence for them. Since then, it has transformed into a huge crazy jumps and mega tricks and grinding on helicopters and stuff. I thought the original concept sounded awesome, I'm kinda bummed it got changed into a really arcady game, even if it is closer to the originals.
PS... 2000 posts. wow.
Lol. My fist is a lot bigger than that one.Originally Posted by jhitman
