    The wonderful game of Overgrowth.

    Ello.

So, back when I first moved to my current city of Maryville in 5th grade, I didn't know anyone or what to do.

    So, what did I do?

    I PLAYED LUGARU.

That's right, I rocked balls at this game. It was what I played day and night (Amidst Guild Wars and Armagetron..) It was sooo fun to me and I loved the hell out of it. Little did I know that it was an exercise of the programming used in it, which apparently was remarkable at the time. Well, Crytek recognized him and asked him to join Crytek in order to work on things such as Crysis and the Crytek Engine. But instead, he chose to go back to school and study even more and get better at programming. And in 2008, production on Lugaru's sequel, Overgrowth, began. So far, it looks like the most amazing game with the most intense and well built engine I've ever seen, called the Pheonix Engine. The team that makes it, Wolfire Games, consists of only 4 people: The programmer, an artist, a creative director, and some other dude I forget but whatever. The game is still in Alpha, and has been since 2008, but what can you expect when there's only 1 programmer making the entire thing? He uploads a weekly build every week and a video of what he did in said week to Youtube, showcasing each individual change, like this one.

YEAH. Im hella excited for this, too.

Anyways, that's Overgrowth in a nutshell. Im hella excited for it, and would be playing it right now if it weren't for my computer sucking ******** at doing much of anything in today's standards....

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF IT SO FAR. IF YOUR PC CAN RUN IT, GET IT.

Not at the moment. It's still in Alpha, but I suspect multiplayer to be a key component in the final game.

For example, GDC is coming up and they just released the next build which improves the 1v1 split screen feature. It's a lot like Tekken or Street Fighter at this moment, and it seems to be working really well.

As far as the type of game, I'm not sure, and I don't think they are either. My hopes is for an RPG with all races together in a great story, since they'll have dogs, cats, wolves, rabbits, and something else but I forget. Sets it up for an interesting saga, and I can easily see an open world type game.

Here's the latest build, with good 1v1 at this point.

My fav is at 1:36 That kick is INSANE.
