The game is still locked down to one console IP. By buying you unlocked the console IP which is not saved on the harddrive but in the interior of your console when you buy it. Also you cannot remove the internal system storage of the xbox 360.
Also the game is bundled with your account. When first connecting the game with xbox live it checks the license and saves it to your drive. But since all temporary data is cleared each time you clear the cache the game always deletes the downloaded, account bundled license. (when not buying the game directly on the console it's saved like an update and not in the steady, not removable licensing folder)
^^
Good to know. Thanks for the explanation.
So long story short - there is no way for me to access the original UE tournament anymore short of getting another Xbox and re-buying Trials HD, since it was originally purchased on a console which is now dead... Correct?
/This sucks...
There is a way... You can do a license transfer from your old (dead) console to the new one. Then you can play all your arcade games offline again. Did that back when I bought my Xbox Slim, it's pretty easy. Cant remember where to do it exactly but Google should helpOriginally Posted by Malachyte![]()
Dammit! There was a time when I used to hang on to busted electronics, you know, just in case. Then it got stupid... A handful of broken printers, old PCs, you name it, cluttering up my closet.
I thought that a RROD'ed Xbox would have no use to me either, so I threw it away when I got my new one.
Aaaaarrrghhh!!!
Any more ideas?
maybe, What if you made a new account then bought HD on it. You would have a new license for it.
As far as I know you dont need the old xbox for the transfer....
Ok, I finally got it to work.
I did the license transfer thing - Don, you were right, I didn't need my old console to do it. However even after doing it my results were still the same. I even tried re-downloading THD after doing the license transfer but that didn't make a difference - it still showed me as having only the demo when I disconnected from XBL.
I think the issue all along was that I was manually going into my network settings and simply disconnecting from my wireless network in order to stay signed in, but not connected to XBL. Somehow Trials still knew that it had an update and wouldn't let me play unless I reconnected to XBL and downloaded it.
What I finally tried was simply unplugging my wireless network adapter from the back of my Xbox after clearing the system cache, and then loading up Trials. This worked. I got error messages about both Big Pack and Big Thrills being corrupted and unable to load (twice for each...), but I assume that's because they require the update to work correctly.
In any case, I'm looking at the UE tournament now, and it has 24 tracks instead of 20! Yay! Time to get this beast zeroed and recorded so I can get everything back to normal.![]()
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and input to help me restore the original tournament.
EDIT: First try - 5 faults, 14:58. Two faults on Rock'n'Drop, one on Underground, one on Trials/Tribulations... and one I can't even remember. I literally hadn't played ANY of these tracks in over a year, so clearly I just need to re-learn them. I think I can zero this pretty easily.![]()
Yeah, I did it back in 09 when I was still very lucky to have a zero fault on Inferno. With the skill level you are at now, it will be cake.
Got it. 0 faults, 14:49.718.
I know the time isn't that great, and it's silly, but the main reason is I really didn't remember the good routes for all the beginner/easy/medium tracks, and I couldn't be bothered to re-learn them all. Also I was extra cautious towards the end of the tournament. Oh well, the time is well below the original 16:20.000 platinum time, so I can check this goal off my list and get back to Ninjas.![]()
Congrats buddy. I wish i had bought HD before it was patched but i was too into MW2, not that it would have mattered. My skill level wasnt good enough until after a year or so.
Dude, you need to half-*** all those remaining ninjas and come on over to Evo. Startin to see more quality ninjas (jook just came out with Just Give Up) and of course i get 1 fault on it...again.AJ has it 0 faulted tho. So hurry up!
