Why I upload my replays in batches

I'm creating this thread just so I can reference it when people ask me this question. I've answered it a number of times in PMs as well as throughout the history of the Ninja Leaderboard thread, and I'm tired of typing it up repeatedly...

I have my TV and my XBox in my living room, which is downstairs.

I have my computer and my HD PVR in my office/studio, which is upstairs.

My computer is an Apple G5. Not a laptop - a very heavy tower. It has four external HDs on top of it, and is plugged into about a bazillion things... four hard drives, two monitors, an external sound card, a mixer, a MIDI keyboard, another MIDI controller with knobs and sliders, and of course the usual - a keyboard, mouse, and printer, and speakers. Moving it is really out of the question.

The cables for the HD PVR don't even come close to reaching between my office/studio and my living room.

Therefore I like to wait until I have a good number of replays to record before I unhook my XBox from my TV and bring it upstairs to hook it up to my PVR/computer and record them. It's just too much of a pain to do this every time I have a new replay to record.

Every time I have a batch of 0-fault runs to record I also empty out the Pending Submissions from the Ninja Leaderboard with my own first-try or first-pass runs.

    ^^

You'd be surprised how often it comes up. But honestly if I had a different setup I would much prefer to upload replays as I get them.

I can see how it's kinda annoying for my subscribers to see nothing from me for like a month and then all of a sudden I dominate their subscription box with like 30+ videos...

It also comes up when I get a good run on a track and send the creator a message on XBL. They often start wondering within a few days why I haven't uploaded this great run I was bragging about.

If I was making videos, I was making them. 1, 2 or 50. If the subs don't like it there is an unsubscribe button they can click You shouldn't worry about it buddy, honestly. I wouldn't even respond to those complaining there's too many videos.

I see how that can be a pain in the ***. It makes logical sense that you would upload batches, isnt that what most people do? I have to do that because I record with a cell phone haha

I use my iPhone for videos, so normally, when I get platinum (or a good run or whatever), I just take the video and upload it right then, so it is done in like 5 mins.

Mal: I love your batches, only becuase when you release them, its like a youtube ninja christmas!

I always got the feeling most people uploaded good runs as they got them... but I could be wrong.

I know, but so did a lot of other people. It's not your fault really... it doesn't seem to make sense if I send someone a message saying "OMG I JUST ZEROED YOUR NINJA TRACK!!!" and then I don't upload the replay for weeks.

That's exactly why I made this thread.

I always thought it was exactly why, but why aren't you playing Trials Evo yet? I am obviously kidding, but I did ask it to you at some time

Keep uploading great videos man, 1 or 30 at a time I don't care, I'll end up watching most of them anyways.
