Hey guys,
It is my opinion that RedLynx should not of sold themselves to Ubisoft. Trials HD put them on the "gaming map" so to speak, & they should of stayed as an independent gaming company, because let's be honest, if Trials HD was not as popular as it is, Ubisoft would not of been interested. If I mention "Trials HD" to one of my gaming mates, even the ones who own a Wii or a PS3, they pretty much all say, "Oh yea, that game by Red Lynx", that is how well known you are now, you did that all by yourselves, you DO NOT need Ubisoft for that........still, you good people know what you are doing! Can you imagine Trials HD, Trials 2SE & Trials Evolution on all platforms, including the Nintendo DS? RedLynx could buy Microsoft!
There is clearly a "Trials" mania going on, because I'd say 90% of people on my friends list play Trials HD now, well done RedLynx on such a bloody brilliant game.
* DISCLAIMER: I am not knocking RedLynx or Ubisoft, I am merely expressing my opinion *
I'm not sure why redlynx got involved with ubisoft but I would assume its for positive reasons. Maybe something simple like more funds. Since redlynx is independent they dont have access to as much money as larger companies. So it would make sense for ubisoft to provide more funding and then take a share of the profit. It's really a win win for both.
But like I said I dot know the reasons. I could be wrong. But im sure it's for good causes
Yes maybe, but I would of rather seen RedLynx go it alone.....another thing my good man, think of the money they made through Trials HD, don't they put it in a bank account?Originally Posted by xPrOFeSsi0NaL
Well it does cost a lot of money to make a game, and they have to run their studios, and pay the employees. A lot more money goes into it than you think I bet.
If trials hd sold 2 million copies at 1200 msp, which is $15, that totals to $30,000,000. That is a lot of money but there are lots of expenses.
But funds may not be the reason. If we got some game devs in here I'm sure they can tell u more, cause I'm jut going off assumptions.
$30,000,000, that is about £20,000,000.......oh yes please!Originally Posted by xPrOFeSsi0NaL![]()
Then there are the other games they made, bloody hell, RedLynx is a proper bloody gaming goldmine........good stuff chaps!![]()
just think of it like this redlynx and ubisoft the better things we could get like "trials revelations" lol the bigger the games will be and the better they will become and the more we can get in the next 2years A+= £/$ for them in my opinion we as gamers we get better things such as better engines to play withhaha
i wonder if ubisoft helped with the graphics engine for all the outside bits. im not saying redlynx couldnt make the large outside world on their own, but going by the performance of the trials HD engine when there was a huge amount of open space i'm guessing this is one of the areas that ubisoft has help in (especially with games like far cry under their belt)
Did anyone notice that on the splash screen for Evo it says "RedLynx, a Ubisoft company"?
Should it not be AN Ubisoft company?
Ubisoft is pronounced You-Be-Soft. Try saying "An You-Be-Soft Studio"... Doesn't work that well.
Ubi means "where" in Latin, so the rough translation is Where-Soft, or Soft-Where... Software. Ha.
ANBA and Tero have both expressed the WHY of Ubisoft acquiring Redlynx, and we only foresee good things from it.
