When i go into the track editor will the tracks made by redlynx be in the "world map"
Can i look in the open world map for the normandy level, is it there? and can i modefy it?
Highly unlikely. This would mean all the editor tools and objects in the map at one time, theres an object limit for a reason.![]()
I would assume all the maps are made in the world editor though![]()
When you enter to the editor there is 2 by 4 km pre made landscape to work with. This landscape is done by artists with our development tools so you have really good initial base line, nice background and you don't necessarily have to worry about the background.
It's really helpful especially for lite editor user who only wants to create cool driving lines but also for experienced track designers because it’s now really fast to create good looking tracks.
All of track in EVO has made with same in-game editor which is shipped with game.
And we thought about adding our track into the base world but it turned out that it was bad idea in practice.
I'm a big trials fan and I've been trolling these boards a while now but finally decided its time to join the discussion.
One thing I'd like to Know that hasn't been clear to me regarding the editor is can you edit the terrain so that the premade world you start with doesn't even look the same? Raise and lower terrain, make mountains and valleys and can you cut holes into it to make like an entrance to a cave or underground mine shaft?
I've read you can terraform but my understanding of the word could mean the above or just mean you can change the landscapes from dirt to rock or grass. I'm hoping for a fully editable world. Thanks for responding In advance![]()
from what i have read you are able to raise and lower the ground level to make your own hills mountains and canyons. 1 thing that has not been said yet is tunnling, i think this is possible though - build a ditch then add earth over the top. but lets hope theres a simpler way.
This has been said that you can do so. I would assume there are tools with options to choose from what type of terrain sculpting you want and then you just use the tool somehow. So yes im pretty sure this is possibleOriginally Posted by Starbinger![]()
Not sure. I dont think we have seen any tracks that were in caves or underground or anything, so as of now im pretty sure we dont have an answer to this. But with as complexed and advanced as the editor sounds and with the possibilities that have been shown so far this sounds like it would be a walk in the park!Originally Posted by Starbinger![]()

as long as we dont have to put 98734659826345 rocks in the level to make it look like a cave then i'll be happy
^I have a feeling we'll still have to use overhead rocks, but even just being able to use larger rock objects and custom terrain for the floor and walls will allow for some really detailed caves![]()
