My guess for how many countries there are has always been 206. I remember watching some talent show a long time ago when some kid recognized hundreds of flags - he got to 206 before the time ran out.

I'm just sat with 2 girls, there 17 and 18... ( noooo, I wish ) and talking about this, I looked at how many countries are in the world, so have YOU guessed yet...

I thought it was 512, ( wrong by a lot ) anyway I asked these 2 idiots and one said 3000... after I explained what a country was ie England Spain Germany France etc she said " ohhh 20 " so after I finished laughing the other said 40.....

The answer is probably 195/196

Young girls eh? Hmm.. I would have guessed about 200. That index is funny, it doesn't recognise Taiwan, Palastine not to mention Wales!!

I agree with you Skag. These marines obviously lo9st their values somewhere. I hope that a court martial is forthcoming.

YEah Shifty, this is terrible. Although they are (supposed to be) each other's enemies, there should still be respect for the injured and the dead. It's a shame people think that things like this would be ok to do.

What happens when you get a court marshall? Is it more than a slap on the wrist? Hope so.

For this circumstance, I believe it would fall under a General Court Martial (not Marshall ).

A general court-martial consists of not less than five members and a military judge, or an accused may be tried by military judge alone upon request of the accused. A general court-martial is often characterized as a felony court, and may try all persons subject to the UCMJ, including officers and midshipmen. A general court-martial may select any punishment, not prohibited by the UCMJ, including death.

Members of the Military (ARMY at least) are shown tons of videos as to what has happened to United States Soldiers who have been captured by "Insurgents". It's not pretty at all. Videos where people are forced to say that they are a spy, that the United States is Satan, that the Insurgent's beliefs are the only right ones, that they (the person being held) knows that they are wrong...

You know what usually follows their attempts to satisfy their captors? Beheading and MASSIVE desecration of their bodies. I'm not going into the details of what these videos show, but it's enough to make you want to go down fighting no matter what.

Some people see these videos and decide that EVERYONE they fight will do this, so it's one of those "You would have done it to me" scenarios.

I completely agree with you that urinating on ANYONE is completely wrong, and desecrating a body is a pretty bad thing to do. I hope that those involved are sentenced to Fort Leavenworth, KS (Military Prison) for at least 5 years.

Cheers for that Shifty. Yeah I hope they face a just punishment. As for the "they would do this to us and worse" stance, even if it is true, I don't think it justifies such behaviour. People should lead by example. A just punishment in my books would be them facing a public urination by some very fat dehydrated truckers.
