When the PEGI rating of Trials Evolution came out a couple weeks ago i tried to research what it meant and decided to email PEGI to see if they would provide some answers.
Here is the question i asked without specific reference to TE:
- Does a game need to be 100% complete and ready for launch in order to receive a PEGI rating? Are publishers allowed to tweak/change a game after a PEGI rating is administered?
PEGI Answer:
- Before addressing your specific concern, please allow me to explain the way games are rated under the PEGI system. The PEGI ratings are being composed with the use of an extensive questionnaire that deals with several topics, among which e.g. bad language, violence, and sex. Depending on the way these topics are represented in a game, a different age rating is the final result, accompanied by a certain content indicator.
In order for us to examine a game, the publisher needs to submit a full and 100% working BETA build of the game. Placeholders will not be accepted. Of course, tweaks can be made after the submission, but these tweaks may not alter the gameplay/content.For instance, if they change the statistics of a weapon or tweak the balance in a game, this won’t change actual content in a game that we are looking for. However, they can’t add new levels, change the music, add new weapons etc. Hence we ask the full BETA version. I hope this information has been helpful. If you still have any questions after reading this e-mail, please do not hesitate to contact us.
I know it basically says things most people already know but it is nice to get some confirmation on the process. It also seems that if you have questions for them they will most likely get back to you, in my case it took a couple weeks.
Thanks for sharing. Hopefuly we can expect some official news by the end of this month.
Does this mean all tracks completed and just tweaks remain.Originally Posted by rjn4

oh wow thanks for sharing that, very useful info there.Originally Posted by rjn4
so there may have been a few bugs when they submited the game.
no new levels i think this may also mean they will only be able to alter the drive line if they decide to change the physics, no background altering is aloud i presume?.
i doubt they can drasticly change menues and tracks...not long to wait now.
thanks again for sharing!
i best go compleat skyrim![]()
I think trials, in the way it is constructed, might be the exception to this. Reviewing all individual objects used in the editor should be enough for pegi to create a rating. After all, tracks are just different combinations of the same objects over and over again.Originally Posted by ShadowLI0N
yeah but i guess you could still create 'suggestive' things with those objects, a plywood ***** for example![]()
but seriously, nice work from the op emailing them and relaying the info. fingers crossed it comes soon![]()
Someone made a custom with the rider shootin outta plywood ***** into an opening of a woman's ****** lol. I think ANBA posted it in the funny videos thread but it got removed from YT...obviously.Originally Posted by WILLYUMZ![]()
