so its gonna be here sooner or laterand my questions for the present and future track designers are these.
based on what little we know about the track editor in Evo has anybody already got plans laid out for future tracks? or any great ideas for tracks/skill games?. (that they don't mind sharing).
do you plan tracks in your heads? or write everything down? or just open the editor and see what happens?
i personally love the idea of a skill game with a flaming bike that has water checkpoints that extinguish the flamesas you go where the idea is to just get as far as you can or through as many checkpoints as you can.
It's kind of hard for me to come up with ideas. Normally I play other tracks, then try to find a theme I like. Then I normally go with that, and adjust a needed. The new editor will be extremely robust, so I figure that will be my kryptonite, until I get used to it.
Really looking forward to the game, but will settle for in depth video of the editor, for now.![]()
I too cant wait to see the video, an really see what the elite,(not me) Creators will be able to do.Originally Posted by mmorgan5066
I usually just have one obstacle in my head. Occasionally I'll have just a vague theme. But mostly I just go in and see what happens. I expect everyone's minds to boggle at the new editor. 1500 objects + ground morphing =![]()

I wanna what kind of run down buildings I can come up with... One that is old and broken apart by hundreds of years of trees and vines taking over.
The editor will be the highlight of this game for me and this is what im most looking forward to.
When I build a track in THD I start off by shaping the blocks then ill just see where it goes. I never plan obstacles or themes, I just go through a cycle of build, test, adjust.
The Evo editor will allow me to pick a spot in the new map, already wonderfully designed, and start off with the driving line. It will be great not having having to work around the blocks, nor having make the track look good because these things will already be there for me to start with.
I can see many, many hours spent with this new editor if the many hours ive spent with the THD editor is anything to go by.
The editor sure will be amazing. And i think i might fall in love with it a bit more than i did in THD. I made around 8 tracks in THD then stopped, i realized i liked the editor alot more, the more i got to know how it worked! So will watch alot of tutorials to get me hyped!
How i normally start my tracks....
First i have to be inspired....Being it a track i play, or something i see throughout my day that creates a spark of imagination....I'll then base my track on this.
I never write anything down or plan a track to the end, i plan the start, then let my brain wonder and see wht it creates!
I just hope they bump up the 1,000 object limit!!!
I've been inspired by a lot of the artwork on http://rubysaturna.tumblr.com/, so I'll probably start there once I see what's in the new editor.
This one is my personal favorite: http://members.casema.nl/jessevandij...tom_colour.jpg
In what way does that picture inspire you? I'm quite interested as i bet alot of people see that picture very differently.Originally Posted by nannerdw
The way i see it, it would be a dark, gloomy peaceful track (Preferably medium-hard difficulty) with also alot of lighting in some area's despite it being dark?
I was thinking of a track with lots of multiple paths, with jumps over crumbling rooftops, going in and out of buildings with window views of the city lights far off in the distance, and riding along narrow streets and rickety boardwalks high above the ground. The driving line would be lit by street lamps, strings of hanging lanterns, and light from nearby buildings.Originally Posted by Elements1992
