I know there's been a bit of discussion about how to make all-time scores fair for people that started the game late. So, I was thinking, why don't they just make an "unofficial" high score list. This could apply to both daily scores, as well as the cumulative all-time score. So, you'd have the current lists that we already have, where you need your score to be posted during the 24 hours for a given day, but then you'd have a separate list where people can submit scores for that day whenever they want.
Curious what others think about this approach.
I think the 10-day-list is a good compromise for everyone who's late to the party. Having more than one global all-time ranking would probably confuse the majority of players, especially the new ones.
Arianj come play with all of us at the Mondial league of 1000 heroz here:

I have signed up at that site, posted in the "Inscrption pour la league mondiale" and added "LEAGUE MONDIALE" to my custom leagues.Originally Posted by Bengitou

I definitely like the new 10-day list and I get your point about potentially confusing players, but I still think the unofficial list would help to keep more new players and add to the replayability of the game for all players. When I joined late, I went back and got 3 gold stars for each level that I had missed, but I wasn't really motivated to try to improve on that score, since it wasn't posting to any global high-score list.Originally Posted by Octofier
Also, it would be pretty interesting to see what kind of times people can get now on the first bunch of levels, now that general skills have been improved.
Actually, here in the forums we often discussed how to get a ranking system in which there would be no disadvantage for new players that's so huge that they couldn't keep up with the ones who have been playing for ages. In the end, we couldn't think of anything that is really balanced and would actually work without pissing one of the two groups off.
To be honest, the 10-day-list is a much better indication of who are the top players of the game than the global one anyway - if you merely did an okay run from day 1 up till today without missing any runs, chances are really good that you're in the top 10 today. With the 10-day, that's a totally different thing.
As for myself, I'm totally okay with not being able to improve times on past runs - it's a lot of "work" keep up in the daily races already. Once I missed two weeks of heroz in a row when I was on holidays, and I didn't even look at the races that I missed afterwards - just because I haven't got too much motivation to put up with it now. After all, this game is all about the competition and everyone trying to get the fastest time at the same time and the same track.
Oh, by the way: If you're into improving on old levels - a bunch of guys here in the forums made a competition of having the best runs in the five tutorial levels. Might wanna search for the threads if you're looking for a challenge![]()
Yeah - I hear ya and just to remind/clarify, I am not talking about removing any of the current stats/lists. Hell, they could even bury this list down in the options if it would prevent some people from getting confused. This wouldn't be for everyone and those that want to concentrate on the daily "official" runs could continue to do so and just ignore this other list.
Well, looks like it's time for a new daily run... ttyl!
Just reviving this thread, since I think those of us that are going through 1000 Heroz withdrawal might like this update to be able to go back and still compete on a leaderboard for best times on older levels.
