    What ever happened to 1000Heroz.com?

    Hi,

Here is a post that i made a few days before the game name was announced.

I am just wondering what happened to this site. The day i went on there it was a site with the logo, art style, links to youtube content, links to app store and a few other things.. Also it had a e-mail option to be updated with latest news about the game. the website was not supposed to be live so they took it down seem after i posted this link, but it has never come back online. Now it redirects to redlynx site but I am just wondering why they built this site then didnt use it?

Just wondering what happened, was this just decided to be scrapped> Can any dev shed some light on this now we are 180 days into the game?

I can think of a few reasons:

    1 - they simply didn't need it

2 - the ran out of or are low on budget and have better things to spend money on

3 - They fell short on revenue projections and can't justify the ongoing cost and maintenance

4 - Their parent company vetoed it

    5 - They forgot

6 - They were hoping to use it for marketing or some proposed functionality that never made it to being

7 - Some suit in their parent company made the realisation that it would only have a negative effect on his perceived P&L so he axed it without considering the community benefits (assume there were to be some)

8 - They wanted to avoid audience fragmentation and stick with a single domain

9 - Someone got preoccupied with armpits and pink tartan school uniforms

It's easy to speculate... but the reality is that, in the software dev world, stuff gets cut midway all the time.

Would love to hear from the devs on this but suspect it's not the sort of thing they should be discussing in a public forum (especially if it did involve tartan).

Well, if that's the reason, there's still hope
Now I'll adress myself to the task of quicky forgetting about Finnish armpits.

I work in the IT space so it would not be a surprise if it was simply never fully delivered and de-scoped from the release plan.. was just wondering if the devs could shed some light on it.?? Curious is all.

We still have the site, but I don't think it was ever used. The source code of the site looks very familiar and I think it was done by me.
The site was supposed to be a very short introduction of the game. I think it had a link to a review, our main site, Twitter etc. and an embedded YouTube video. Pretty much like http://www.redlynxmystery.com/ except with more information about the game.

It seems that I'm the one who disabled the site, but I have no idea why.

I'm just glad it didn't have anything to do with armpits. Or falling into pits. Or arms.

You disabled it when i found that the site was live before the game name had even been announced. After I made my post, I think one other person saw the site then it was taken down. We posted screen grabs from his cache but they were also removed

    That was a fun day!

and thanks for the answer, I had always wondered about this. Appreciate the response.
