Having trouble with triggers and physics.....
Ok, I'm pullin what little hair I have left out.....For some reason I can't seem to figure out how to trigger a simple physics action......I just want a hinged board to fall and act as a ramp by trigger action.....Sounds simple enough....I watched a bunch of how-to videos on Youtube and read all I can here, but for the life of me I can't seem to make it happen.
Heres the deal.....I glue a long board to one side of a limited rotation hinge, and glue the other side of the hinge to another object (rocks).....hit the little left arrow button on the controller to activate physics, and the board drops into a ramp position just the way I want, Great...BUT.....When I try to activate this action using a trigger I don't get the same desired results.....Usually the item I selected within the triggers menu, just falls to the floor when the trigger is activated...I have tried every combination of physics on/off that I can think of, all without success....If I trigger the board it just falls to the ground....trigger the hinge and the same happens.....Trigger both, and both fall away.....But push the little left arrow button on my controller and the ramp falls into place just like I want....Just not when I try using a trigger....So what in world am I doing wrong???.....I won't tell you how many hours I've spent the past three days trying to get this one stupid board to fall the way I want.....Nor will I tell you about all the havok that seems to happen should I want to glue two or three boards together as a ramp, then trip the switch.....Lets just say that before I throw my controller thru the tv screen, I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.....lol.....Thanks guys.

Re: Having trouble with triggers and physics.....
When setting up your hinge, make sure physics for both the rock and the long board are turned 'off'. (To see the properties of a single object from a group of glued objects, hold the left bumper as you select it.)
The trigger should only have physics 'checked' and it should only activate the long board. Also make sure there isn't any other loose physics objects around that could touch the trigger and activate it by accident.
I hope that helps. Can't think of anything else that could be wrong.

Having trouble with triggers and physics.....
Exactly what Iron said. Of that doesn't work for you then please post some form of video that shows the setup of the board, hinge, and rock. As well as the trigger and it's options.

Also, "glue" that board ramp together and it wont cause havok when it's physics are active.
Good luck

Re: Having trouble with triggers and physics.....
Well....After further messing with everything, I accidently stumbled onto the problem I think.....That I didn't have a problem....hahaha.....It seems my "Manual testing" was the problem.....I was just manually using a short plank to trip the trigger....When I did that everything just fell to the ground....but that did not happen when I actually tried to play the map.....To my surprise the ramp worked as I wanted.....Go figure......I went back into the editor and repeated my "Test" and got the same results.....Soooooo, my problem appears to be the way I've been manually testing the trigger......I thought I'd seen guys do this on videos, but they must be doing it differently then what I'm doing....Anyway...for now my problem seems solved.....Thanks guys.
