Re: Playfire.com - The Facebook of Gaming

    Hey guys,

My name is Kieran and I'm one of the developers of Playfire. I saw this thread pop up, I hope you don't mind me guys stepping in.

First off, I want to say thanks for the kind words from the OP. We've worked hard to make the site be a super cool service for gamers. If you have any ideas on how to improve it then let me know and we'll look at getting them added. All of our new features come from suggestions from the community.

Second, I want to reassure everyone that your accounts are completely safe. We never store ANY of your details, and the whole process is completely secure. There is zero risk by using Playfire.

Thirdly, you made a very good point that if you get invited we ask you to log in, and if you sign up normally we don't. This is because when a friend invites you we wanted to provide a way to automatically connect with that friend and also see which other friends are already on Playfire. Our goal was to make it so that when you joined you already had friends on the site, and we can only do this by asking you to login to Live so we can verify your identity and get your friends list. If anyone feels uncomfortable (they hopefully won't as we're an official Xbox Community Developer etc, but it's understandable as there are some untrustworthy sites online) then they can just sign up normally which doesn't ask you to login.

Lastly, we never send out any messages unless you invite someone to Playfire who isn't a member yet.

Hope this answers any questions, and sorry for any confusion. We're working on making the site better every day and our single goal is provide an awesome service for gamers (we're a team of gamers too).

Thanks and sorry for the interruption,

    Kieran
