I forgot to thank you for "ornery". Didn't know that word. I don't like the Job, but what I really use is the fact that I go out. That makes me feel much better/more energetic than before.
The only thing I'm afraid of is full-time work. My punching bag is my novel. It has made me very strong. Probably a bit like making tracks for you. I absolutely smash aspects of real society in my novel. People think I'm a Jerk here, this - the (infrequent) slander people get from me - is nothing.

Making tracks is good n all, but what really keeps my demons at bay is music. Playing guitar calms my inner beast like nothing else in this world.

And here's another truth about me. No one on my friends list talks to me anymore. My suffocation is when no one talks to me. I post all the time in the forum because it helps me edit my work for longer periods of time. I love replies!

A lot of music I hear isn't about anything. To me that's weird. I most like music that picks a clear topic. The other thing that I don't get is why a lot of musicians don't seem to mind the fact that their lyrics are hard to make out. I don't get it. Inspiration is a tough mistress.
My inspiration needs to be worth 100,000 words. X2 if I start my next novel.

There are certainly limits on my, and all Moderators, authority.

I can see you trying to use this definition, but it doesn't hold up either, which actually brings me to another point.
I expect you guys to handle 99.9% of your business yourselves. I don't like editing/removing posts, or issuing warnings. I'll remove spam messages that by no means belong on the forum, such as "I agree with the sentiment, sony microwaves for sale at [website link]".
I will not remove posts that are insulting at a Kindergarten level, such as "I don't like you, and nobody else does either." because, seriously, being insulted by something like that is beneath all of us.
I don't enjoy when person #1 gets all bent out of shape when person #2 says something "mean" to person # 1 after person #1 belittles the spirit, and participants, of a topic, such as what seems to happen daily in "Personal Best".
I hate getting PMs that say "OMG LOOK AT THIS THREAD/POST/USER IT/HE/SHE SHOULD BE DELETED/MERGED/BANNED!1!!!!", unless I specifically ask someone to point it out to me, please just use the report function, that's why it's there.
I come to the boards, jump onto the Moderator panel to view reports, and then I do the same thing that you guys do. I enjoy the conversations, debates, silly fights, and go on about my business.
Most of the time I am here, I don't wear my "Mod Hat" I'm just another fan of Redlynx, another person who can go Off-Topic and on a tangent, like this. There are 4 people in the Moderators Group, and 24 in the Developers Group.
I guess I am just saying that we can't be lazy, worthless, people who don't do our jobs, yet, at the same time, be oppressive dictators.
I view all of the arguments here as a joke, especially if the participants don't feel the need to use the REPORT button. If it's not that important to you, then it surely isn't something I will take upon myself to remedy.
We're all Big Boys and Girls, and we should be able to act accordingly. If you don't want to get hit with a rock, then don't kick sand in someone's face.
