It can be very cold here, especially in Lillehammer, but luckily we have a short memory span so when spring comes, all the cold weather is forgotten...Originally Posted by arseiam

I have to agree with you on the replay thing....it's one thing to see a time (the bar that's been set), but it's another thing to be SHOWN exactly HOW to do it. I don't personally like that. Not only are they taking the whole "figure it out" aspect of the game away, but they are also taking the part where we consult with each other for tips out of it. I don't like it at all and it makes me feel like Redlynx has SOLD OUT to Ubisoft in favor of the almighty $$$.Originally Posted by Colorado77

I say that Redlynx should significantly increase the difficulty factor in getting the Gold Medal on a race to a point that those who can't get the gold may need to purchase a replay in order to get it. The kicker though...is the replay would not be available at all until the current days race is FINISHED!!!!
Yes. I said from the start that I wanted replays. But I only wanted to be able to see MY replay during the race. And after the timer is up, I could see the leader or top 10.
I don't mind the replay functionality mostly because I don't really use them and on the occasions that I have it has been well after I have found the line.... and usually on levels where the line doesn't count as much (like cart flip tracks). I like seeing what other people do though I would be just as happy having them only available after the day is over.
But for the ultra competitive out there.....to have to show YOUR line to other highly skilled players who may not have been able to beat you and your exceptional run without seeing it seems like giving away the only competitive advantage the top tier players had left.Originally Posted by arseiam
meh... sounds to me like you're just taking it all too seriously. The top competitors are going to find the line anyway, and personally I couldn't give a rat's *** iof they see my replay and learn from it... they still have to make the run.
I do concede your point though that it reduces the amount of discussion online.

Some people don't care what color car they get, but for others it's the most important thing. Some people don't care what time of day they work, while others insist they can only work certain hours. Some people could care less about replays, and those people are completely unaffected by the replay policy: whatever that may be. For the rest of the players that DO CARE, the current program is an agitation they didn't have before. Yea, good players will no doubt find good lines, and most likely even similar lines.....but even similar lines can and usually will have ultra subtle differences that can make all the difference between getting a win...or just being, lets say, somewhere around the top. Some don't care if they win, while others won't play unless it's TO win.Originally Posted by arseiam
