    1000 Heroz User Bios

I just realized that I have come here to talk to you guys almost everyday for the past 120-something days, but I really don't know anything more than your username (most of you), so i figured i'd make a post in case anyone wants to share anything about themselves.

    I guess I'll start
    [Updates from 7/12/2012]

My real name is Dan, born and raised in Buffalo, NY.
I'm 26 [now 27], married, with (almost) 8 month old twin boys [they are about 18 months now, and my wife is pregnant is another boy (1/2 way though)], two dogs, and a cat [and another cat!].
I work a boring desk job where I sit on a computer all day ( I work at a customs broker, clearing high priority air express shipments into the US from foreign countries).
I am a music fanatic and enjoy almost every genre (even country), but metal and it's sub genres are my favorite, especially deathcore (add me on Spotify ).
My wife and I do occasional wedding photography on the side [not at the moment since my wife is pregnant], and photography has always been a little hobby of mine.
Spaghetti parm is my favorite food of all time.
I need a haircut [I do right now too].
I was featured in an article in the July 2012 Issue of GameInformer!
I am a Trials Evo and 1000 Heroz addict, although I play trials/xbox MUCH less these days.

This pic is from the 4th of July... so the boys are a little bigger, my wife's hair is now red, and I look like a hobo (longer hair and shaggier beard)

This is a slightly more recent photo, taken around Christmas 2011:

Lastly, here is a pretty recent photo of the boys around age 17 months or so:

    heehee I'll bite.

My initials are ARSE so everyone calls me Arse and have since school. Been involved in all aspects of game and software creation for about 25 years. Recently divorced so I sold my company and moved to the forest (mid East coast of Australia) where I can live near my 5 y/o daughter Pixel. Also a music nut with preferences for metal (mathcore and avant-garde mostly) though I love all world music. I'm a secular humanist with an interest in sculpture, psychedelics and fit chicks with tattoos. My fists are large and my thumbs are wet.

Sure, why not? My name is, wait for it... Rob. I've been involved in call centers in some way, shape, or form for 16ish years (and I'm still not burned out from it). I am currently employed by a major mobile telecom provider in the US. That means lots of free toys and cheap plans. I tether my ipad to my phone to play 1000 Heroz at work when I get the chance.

I'm a tech head through and through. If it's a gadget that I want, I prolly have it. I love reproducing theater experiences in my home. Big sound and big tv's. If an explosion doesn't shake something off the walls, it wasn't loud enough. As for music, I grew up on 80's rock and metal, but I could listen to that one moment, change to country, to trance, then to opera, to blues, to jazz, then a symphony, to deathcore, and everything and anything you can think of right after each other. As long as it has a good bass lead, or good rhythm section, or good horns, or good lyrics, or yadda, yadda, yadda. Bonus if it has all of them in the same song. Best rock ballad ever? "I'll Never Let You Go" by Steelheart. Crank that on your stereo and tell me you aren't air guitaring it.

I remember when Hercules graphics was considered top of the line. My first modem was a 300 baud pulse dial. I used AOL before it was AOL (bonus points to anyone who knows what it was called without looking it up). There should be more BBS doors (LoRD anyone?) on the interwebs. I didn't want a PS1 because the controller was too complicated (2600 had one button and eight directions... more than that was hokey!). Broke down and got an Xbox back in the day and was an original Xbox Live beta tester and have the tshirt to prove it. To my knowledge, you can't have a gamertag as short as mine anymore.

I'm a pro-NY fan for sports (grew up in NJ, what do you want?). No, not the Yankees. Mets, Knicks, Giants, and Rangers. I can usually be found wallowing in misery because one of those teams has forced me to start drinking earlier than I should be.

I bake. OFTEN! Usually gourmet snacks and sweets and such, but I've been known to make homemade pastas from scratch. People tend to clamor for stuff when I bring it in. Best reaction to something? Prolly would be my dark chocolate ******ss cupcakes, filled with a jameson ganache, topped with a bailey's butter cream frosting.

    Did I miss anything?

great idea nytmair... I'm millertime660 aka nullrygar aka ryan miller

(the one on the left is me my buddy on the right also plays,,, best picture i could find)

live in the state of massachusetts! fall is incredible here. Listen to lots of different kinds of music, love electronic and good rock music though. My favorite bands for instance are shpongle (yep), my morning jacket, flaming lips and radiohead.

I absolutely love apple products and technology. I usually write a lot of my own music on the computer (growing up in a very musical family helps) I also love to listen to a good album on vinyl, drinking a ice cold IPA, while having an unforgettable psychedelic experience pretty regularly. (and i dispatch for the citys police and fire departments )

29 years old, still love video games, hanging with my friends, playing trials and 1000 heroz, and being one step below arse! every god damn day!

peace guys, can't wait to hear more!

    1000 Heroz User Bios

Hi! I'm not the most well known 1000 Heroz player, Rook took over my only #1 run when he joined the league (does mine still count? ) Anyhow:

Name's Dan, live in Kansas. It's not as flat as everyone tends to think. I lived in the Kansas City/Overland Park area for 8 years. Came out to "The Middle of Nowhere" to help my father care for my mother 4 years ago when she was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, she passed away in July. Miss you mom.

Living out here is a bit of a double-edged sword. It's really tranquil and beautiful, but I miss being able to walk two blocks down to get a coffee/slurpee. My nearest neighbor is over a mile away, so when there isn't much wind I can usually be found out near the dirt wall we constructed, 500 yards from the house, drilling balloons filled with talcum powder or paper targets with one of the firearms.

I joined the United States ARMY 6 years ago And was part of a reserve unit forever. My left knee went bad on me and 99% of the time it feels like jello. It can be funny watching me stand around talking and then I'm halfway to the ground before I catch myself.

I have an 8 year old daughter who acts far too much like I do/did. I don't know if that makes me Immature for my age, her mature for her age, or both. I've done my share of Stateside traveling, California to NY, Kentucky to Texas, Colorado, Chicago... Best place I have seen was a small(ish) town outside of Denver. Clean crisp air and friendly people, what more could you want?

I did some work about 10 years ago as a "Regional Manager" of the Linkin Park Street Team (don't judge me) they actually flew me to LA and NY to attend shows. It was pretty cool at the time. I can't listen to their music anymore.

I listen to Five Finger Death Punch, RATM, Coheed & Cambria, Nirvana (still)... Hell, I'll listen to Gary Allen or Joe Purdy on occasion too. There isn't much that I don't like.

I think that's about it. My bio is long.

Oh, EDIT: I sometimes enjoy baking and cooking as well. My latest project involved made from scratch Red velvet cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting. The frosting was a bit too sweet for my tastes though. Decorations were fun to do though.

Don't judge my beat to hell metal holder of cupcakes. It's been through a lot.

PS: My first modem was a 2400 (600 baud) and I was the FIRST person to slay the Red Dragon on the Johnson County Community College BBS. I played far too often.

    Re: 1000 Heroz User Bios

I guess it's my turn huh??

My real name is Jeff. I was born, raised, and live just outside of Burlington, Vermont. Home of Ben & Jerry's, the band Phish, and Vermont maple syrup. It's also about 30 to 45 minutes south of Canada, which is where we all go when we want to see ladies at car shows, and the full nude strip clubs.
A car show in Canada. She was 6'5

    [list:1jvnvsy8]
So I have a very long and complicated story...but I'll give you some highlights:

Born 3/20/73 in Vermont....still live in Vermont.

-At 18, I joined the 82nd Airborne and became a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. ( I jumped out of planes for a living )
-I got injured and was discharged from the Army after 8 years due to complications related to the injury.
-I did 10 years at Home Depot and a little bit at some other retailers. I started out just stocking shelves, but worked myself up to a Store Manager.
-Stopped working in 2008 due to complications related to the head injury.
-So I'm essentially retired now with lots of time to play HeroZ
-I'm a gamer (Redlynx games, strategy games, not really into FPS unless its survival or killing zombies)
    -I'm a golfer
-I'm in the gym several times a week
    -I don't drive at all...don't even own a car.

Fortunately there are really great benefits for disable Veterans in my situation. That means work doesn't get in the way of play time...and I probably have more time to play 1000 Heroz...( if I need it that is )..than 99% of you. Usually my only distraction is my g/f, Trials, the gym, or some other whatever that I feel like doing with all this time on my hands.

My gamertag is RookyJ, but you can just call me Rook.

The name came from my Call of Duty gameplay. I feel like I suck so bad at that game that I started calling myself a Rooky. I'm really not THAT bad...but compared to all the people that have prestiged 15 times like my friends...yea...I'm a rooky. Maybe if I just played more than once every few months I'd be a bit better. Trials games are favorite games...I consider myself above average at that game...but even still I can't hang with the big boys on that one either. I like designing tracks...so eventually look for those when the new one comes out.

That's the 10 cent version. It's good to hear a bit about some of you guys. Thanks Nm.[/list:u:1jvnvsy8]

    Re: 1000 Heroz User Bios

    Allright, my turn now

Well then, I´m 24, born and live in Nuremberg, Germany. Went to school, tried studying economics but quit that after a year. Started an apprenticeship at a little IT company here in town back in 2008 and work there in purchasing atm. Most of the time sitting in front of the pc and reading the forums I´m planning to catch up on my economics degree via evening school now. That would cost most of my spare time and gaming time but I just feel the need of doing it

Speaking of music I´m more into electronic stuff like House, Electro, Trance, Dubstep, etc. Usually if it´s electronic I like it. Heard a lot of Rap/Hip Hop when I was younger but don´t like the stuff they all do nowerdays. In general I´m open to every kind of music. Many of my friends listen to rock/metal and I´m fine with that, too, by now.
Baking is not a strength of mine but my cooking skills are ok

Besides gaming and working I often go cycling or read books, play pool, party with friends, and much more.

Alright, nothing more that crosses my mind right now so that´s it.

heehee cool. I'm hardly surprised we're a bunch of geeks... though I am surprised at the vintage of some of us.

I'm also a keen baker (sourdoughs mostly) and hobbyist cheese maker.

    This is me:

    Great idea, Nytmair!

Although I just recently started posting here on the forums and playing 1000 Heroz on a (too) regular basis, here is some info about me: I'm Robert, 32 years old, from Vienna/Austria/Europe. I've been a radio journalist for almost ten years now, mostly covering video game culture related features (yay!). I try to really get an idea about most of the things that happen in all those small and big gaming communities out there, but of course happen to play most games just very briefly. In my spare time, I've never been drawn into a game so heavily since my early days of StarCraft in 1998 and 1999. By the way, I never really stopped playing StarCraft and now continue with the second instalment since the beta. My favorite caster? TotalBiscuit of course

I also find it very interesting that so far most of us are almost silver gamers Maybe this has something to do with the old school mechanics of 1000 Heroz that are much like vintage arcade video games from the 80ies? Who knows ... Interestingly, the are no scandinavic players so far. Or maybe they just haven't posted yet?

    Re: 1000 Heroz User Bios

    Hi there. My name's "Matt".

Like most of you, it seems, I grew up around games in the 80's, and can't seem to grow out of them. I tend to play third and first person shooters, rpg's, and old NES games (thank you internet), but I've gotten obsessed with a few driving games, as well. (And it should go without saying that, loving video games, I love all of the Tekkens.)

When I'm not playing COD, Legends of Yore, or Heroz, I'm working on my Ph.D in philosophy. I'm in California until I finish the dissertation, but I try to travel when I can. (Those in the top ten should've noticed my rapid drop in position a while ago, for instance, as I missed six or so days of Heroz while travelling in Mexico.)

I have other interests, I suppose: I read literature, I collect lenticulars, I watch hockey and movies whenever possible, and I enjoy talking to strangers, learning languages and getting to know cities (my favorites being London and Seoul).

I don't really listen to music, apart from the Katamari soundtracks.

As for pictures, this is me after an embarrasingly rough night out arguing about the nature of de re thought:

Not really. That picture pops up when you google my name, though.
